Just in the last 10 minutes, police in the city of munich germany gave everyone a cautious all clear after gunmen opened fire at a shopping mall. Police think he acted alone and then killed himself. It happened at 6 p. M. Local time at olympia shopping mall. That prompted police to ask everyone to go home and stay inside. Cell phone video captured the moments outside a mcdonalds done. Veronica de la cruz watching the latest developments. Reporter the socalled cautious all clear comes more than 7 hours after a gunman opened fire on the crowded shopping mall. Authorities are now calling it an act of terrorism. Cell phone video shows a man touring on a street outside a Shopping Center in munich. People ran for safety some carrying children. As police searched for three gunmen who Authorities Say are still on the run. A gunman fired on shoppers before escaping to a nearby metro station. Security forces shut down the Transit System and some people are reportedly still hiding in shops. Authorities are trying to find the shooters responsible. President obama pledged americas support. Our hearts go out to those who may have been injured its still an active situation and germany is one of our closest allies. Reporter police warn people to avoid Public Places until they get the chaos under control. This is the Second Attack in germany in less than a week. On monday, a 17yearold refugee from afghanistan went on a rampage in a crane near munich attacking people with an axe and knife. Four people were wounded in that attack and police shot the attacker dead. Isis claimed responsibility for that. But authorities believe that that teenager acted alone. Thank you. People in a vacaville neighborhood to up and leave their homes at a moments notice because of a grass fire. The first flames started in the hills west of the grandview area. Firefighters used air retardant and thats did a lot to explode the spread. This is what drivers saw on 80 westbound. You can see the smoke rising in the air on the left side of your screen. The fire scorched about 57 acres. Firefighters fully contained the flames before they could affect any homes. In Southern California in santa clarita, this fire started about 2 p. M. And it grew fast. Its now 1500 acres. There are homes in the area but right now, they are not threatened. A memorial is getting under way for mario woods, the man who was shot and killed by San Francisco Police Officers last december. Marios mother expected to be here in attendance for a service in honor of her son. Now, the memorial happening at the Cornerstone Church here in the bayview on what would have been his 27th birthday. Earlier this year, the board of supervisors unanimously passed a resolution declaring today mario woods day of remembrance. We have a community thats been working literally day and night to make sure that his remembrance is not taken lightly by the city. His memory needs to be recognized but even more importantly this day in itself is a starting point. A healing point. For the family, for the extended family, for the community. The president of the San Francisco Police Officers association tells us its merely a coincidence that they decided to hold a Remembrance Day of their own the same day as mario woods memorial. Those honored include the five dallas officers ambushed this month. San jose Police Officer Michael Katherman and Hayward Police Sergeant Scott lunger, who was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop one year ago today, were also honored. Here our season for mosquitos is just beginning. But were already seeing numbers pop in and you know what . Its concerning considering what else is happening in california. While much of the world worries about zika, bay area Vector Control says theres actually another mosquitoborne illness that californians should be more concerned about. West nile virus. There have been twice as many positive tests sampled than this same time last year. Right now its a typical year for us in terms of west nile virus. However, in california, there are some areas that where west nile virus is really quite active. Reporter so active, that 896 mosquito samples have tested positive for west nile in california so far this year. Last year, at this same time, only 497 samples tested positive. A Garden Supply owner says mosquito patrol is a major concern of his customers. Is this a top seller . Its a big seller now because of the concern about west nile virus. Reporter in marin where kevins business is, two dead birds have been reported with west nile virus this year. One each in alameda and solano counties. Four in contra costa county. Two in san mateo. And the most by far is in Santa Clara County with 38 dead birds. Vector control doesnt know why the state numbers are so high but says they and locals alike plan to be prepared. Absolutely id be concerned about it. And and i think everyone should be concerned and i think everyone should be aware, um, of it and and the potential danger there. Reporter one thing you do need to know about this is that so far, no human has gotten west nile this year. But just so youre aware of the symptoms it feels like the flu. If you think that maybe this is what you have, go to the doctor and get tested. Another thing thats important for you to know, preemptively always wear bug spray and do not keep any standing water around your house. Reporter police say the substance may have been introduced into the system at one of the towns five water wells. If so it was done on purpose. There were signs of tamper forced entry into what would have been the raw water supply. Reporter the presence of thc was discovered by a company that conduct routine employee drug tests. We have Different Levels of an onshore flow. We had a moderate to strong one which pushed inland and everybody was running five to 10 degrees below average. A different version of the onshore flow is weaker. It doesnt make a difference at ocean beach or marin county at the coastline. A weaker onshore flow doesnt make it inland. Its going to be warmer to hotter anywhere away from our beautiful water here. So well be warmer in wine country and highs pushing 95 to 99 degrees. We have a big ridge of High Pressure centered to the south. The clockwise flow around it is promoting the light onshore flow but it will minimize the strength of the onshore flow. We could be above average for 7 to 10 days depending on the longrange forecast. Futurecast our short range forecast shows sunshine across the board tomorrow. Yes, we are going to have that big temperature swing but everybody gets to enjoy nice saturday sunshine.
