There are some fears that Donald Trumps calls to look for fraud on election day might intimidate some people and keep them from going to the polls. But leaders in one bay area county say they wont let it happen there. Santa clara county leaders and the registrar of voters are telling people not to worry. They say the polls will be staffed with professionals and citizens observers to make sure voters are not harassed. The suggestion of election rigging and voter fraud is completely unfounded and ridiculous. We dont take this lightly. Right now politicians say there is no evidence a wave of Trump Supporters are planning to hit the polls to warn of voter fraud. And even if they did, they are not allowed to talk to voters inside the polling places. Wells fargo is now under a criminal investigation after the bank was busted for creating millions of fake bank accounts. Consumerwatch reporter julie watts has the details. Julie. This search warrant reveals that the California AttorneyGenerals Office has launched an investigation looking into whether wells fargo employees illegally accessed bankers and basically acted as identity thieves to open fake accounts. The warrant was served at the banks San Francisco headquarters this month. Wells fargo is suspected of creating nearly 2 million bank and credit card accounts without customer approval. Fees from those accounted were more than 3 million. The warrant asked for information on affected consumers and on the Bank Employees who opened the accounts as well as their managers. This scandal is already costing wells fargo. San francisco and Santa Clara County are both threatening to cut business ties with the bank. And, of course, ceo john stumpf retired last week. On the consumerwatch, julie watts, kpix 5. New information on the shooting at a San Francisco high school. Four students were sent to the hospital. Today counselors were there as students returned to class. Kpix 5s Jessica Flores is live at San Francisco general where the injured students were treated. Reporter one female student was taken here yesterday in critical condition. We now know she is in stable condition. The three other teenaged boys taken here are all recovering. As for the suspects, San Francisco police are still searching for them. June jordan students left for the day with fists in the air walking in solidarity in the face of violence. Reporter San FranciscoUnified School District officials believe the four suspects behind the shooting in the Campus Parking lot are not affiliated with the school. But all the four victims are students. School resource officers called to the scene thought it was an active shooter situation. Although police say they believe it was targeted. We provided a lockdown within the school and a lockout immediately. All the students, um, were put in shelter immediately. Reporter school is in session today. Students came out in full force writing messages to their classmates who are recovering at the hospital. Very worried about everything, you know. It was like really eyeopening for all of us but what are we going to do to move on from here on out . Reporter that was the question on the minds of parents. Marios daughter is a senior. He wants more security. Being able to have a probably squad car present when school is out just to stay here as a deterrent. Reporter for students the answer to the violence is found in one another. Kpix 5s phil matier explains they are turning a tent camp into a homeless shelter. Phil. Reporter thats right, ken. Now, usually in San Francisco and other cities, the push has been to get you off the streets and into a shelter. But with 1400 homeless on the streets of oakland, and no shelter space, well, they opted to do just the reverse. Heres the story. Thats my tent. Reporter after a year of trying to curb the growing problem of tent camps in city streets, oakland decided to turn one camp into an instant homeless shelter complete with barriers, toilets and even washrooms. We all take turns picking up garbage and emptying the garbage and trying to keep it clean. Reporter after two years on the street, its a Welcome Break for lee. We are just shifting how we do business. Clean needle exchange, additional services. A lot of us have problems, you know, Serious Problems but we getting help now and its a blessing. Reporter but not everyone is happy with the forced move in. Do you want to be here . No. No. Not really. [ indiscernible ] its bringing social workers to the site to see if we get people aligned with the resources so they are into housing more quickly. Reporter the homeless have been a problem in the neighborhood for more than a year. But a sanctioned homeless camp for the next six months . im not comfortable with it. Not at all. Customers also dont like coming to this neighborhood anymore. Its our socialist paradise. We have to find a better way to take care of the people in the streets. Its unhealthy for them and the neighborhood. Reporter well, basic plan . Its to try to get the people into housing and each time they get someone in, shut down the camp, one more step at a time, move the barriers and make it smaller then move to the next one. Authorities say a bizarre blast in oakland appears to be suicide. Witnesses said a man ma wheelchair entered the san antonio Neighborhood Health center on international boulevard about 6 30 last night. The man in the wheelchair detonated a pipe bomb. You can see the area is now taped off and doors and windows are covered in tarps and cardboard. A bomb squad swept the scene and deputies searched for other explosive device out of an abundance of caution. No other injuries reported. New at 5 00, more than 100 inmates at the Santa Clara County jail are refusing to eat. They are protesting Living Conditions that they say are cruel. Kpix 5 reporter devin fehely is live with more on this protest. Devin. Reporter yeah. We are now nearly 72 hours into this Hunger Strike with no signs of it slowing down. The inmates and their supporters say this is their way to bring attention to conditions that they describe as inhumane and unfair inside the jail. If you cannot have any type of contact with anyone, that is solitary. Reporter organizers of the Hunger Strike say some inmates spend 23 hours a day in small cramped cells with little, if any, human contact. They are all alone in isolation. No access to a shower at times. And definitely no access to another individual. Reporter according to the Sheriffs Office more than 125 inmates have refused to eat over the first three days of a planned twoweek Hunger Strike. The inmates wrote an open letter to the community describing conditions inside the jail as, quote, harsh an unfair. They want the Sheriffs Office to limit the use of solitary confinement, to reform the inmate classification system, and to give all inmates greater access to education programs. One could say that you do the crime, do the time. But these at the end of the day these individuals are fathers, theyre brothers, theyre, uhm, sons. Reporter a spokesman for the Sheriffs Department says most of the inmates in question are maximum security inmates and that they have been classified that for good reason either because they have been charged with serious crimes like murder or they belong to gangs. Isolating them from the rest of the jail population he says keeps them and others safe and he also hastened to add that medical personnel are monitoring all of the inmates participating in the Hunger Strike. The move requires approval from 24 of the leagues 32 team owners. Nfl commissioner Roger Goodell echoed davis sentiments. We would love to have the raiders stay in oakland. We think thats a positive thing. We have been also very clear over the last couple of years that it requires getting long term resolution to the stadium. We still dont have that solution. A decision is not expected anytime soon. Reports say january at the very earliest. In a statement, oakland mayor libby schaaf says, quote, while im committed to keeping the raiders, i will not enter into a bidding war with nevada using public funds. Thats why i remain focused on working out concrete deal terms that give the nfl owners an oakland option to consider. She hopes to have a serious plan to present in the coming weeks. Today marks 25 years since a devastating fire tore through the east bay. Fastmoving flames turned the Oakland Hills into an inferno. The fire burned nearly 1500 acres and destroyed nearly 3500 homes in oakland and berkeley. It left little time for residents to pack up and escape. 25 people were killed in the fire. Right now, a live look at where people will be coming together to honor those killed in that fire. A sunset ceremony will be held along tunnel road right before the caldecott tunnel. I always knew their there were mountain lions on the mountain but never saw i would see them playing in the vineyard. Reporter they look like house cats. Much happier to see them on video than in person. Reporter a rare scene. Two mountain lions at once captured with this small game camera mounted near the fence line trail. You can see that one of them was either putting a scent down on the ground here or was scenting some other place. Reporter he placed the camera and said there are more out there. They even jump this fence. Here you can see the claw marks left behind. Theres a lot more wildlife near this vineyard. Foxes, families of geese, and, of course, coyotes. We identified ocean beach as one of the more extreme notorious locations in the u. S. Reporter normally in a standup competition borders fight through a surf break, paddle around offshore buoys and race toward a finish line but this time they made the borders come in and out of the surf three times before heading out to open ocean. And this was one time the best in the world didnt make it look easy. This is the craziest for sure. A lot of it that we have seen are flat water events, so this is exciting for us to watch.
