This afternoon chopper 5 was over a home in the hayward hills. A s. W. A. T. Team was deployed and at one point officers carefully entered the home through the garage. They discovered the body of a man inside. A short time later police came out of the house with a woman in custody. She was led away in cuffs. We are told she was taken in for questioning. Police say there are no more suspects and that the investigation is ongoing. A paramedic with the San FranciscoFire Department is under arrest tonight after an explosion outside his neighbors home. 32yearold James Novello has been booked on a charge of possessing a destructive device. He is accused of blowing up a flower pot that left debris scattered for 30 feet. The explosion happened on madrid street sometime between midnight and 3 a. M. Wednesday morning. The owner of the house heard the blast, went back to sleep and then found that debris and called police. Novello is on nonworking status while a Police Investigation proceeds. San jose Police Hope Surveillance Video could help catch a carjacker who ran over a woman while speeding off. Officers say a woman left her car unattended while it warmed up last month. And the suspect drove off with it. The victim ran in front of the car and was hit. She is expected to be okay. Police believe the two people in this Surveillance Video are accomplices. This is video of them in a parking lot trying to open cars. Anyone with information on this is being asked to call san jose police. The mayor of stockton has a lot of explaining to do. He was arrested yesterday and today he is saying he is innocent. Anthony silva is accused of playing strip poker with a group of teens and providing them alcohol last year at a city run summer camp for at risk youth. A reporter on the mayor fighting back. Reporter between his bodyguards and legal team, mayor silva spoke to the media for the first time today. Im innocent and i appreciate your patience. Reporter silva faces four charges stemming in his youth camp in Amador County. The investigation began a year ago with a search of his electronic devices. They used Homeland Security to illegally seize my laptops and cell phone under the border doctrine. Reporter he was arrested at the silverlake family camp site yesterday. According to the arrest report he recorded audio on his phone of a strip poker game in his bedroom while at the camp in 2015. The report also states the mayor, three 19yearolds, an 18yearold and 16yearold were there in the room. The report states silva provided alcohol and was also charged with endangerment. Number one, everyone there was 18 years old. Number 2, i never, ever ever, ever endangered a child. Ever. Number 3, i never provided alcohol to anyone. And i certainly did not secretly record anyone. He, like, kind of faked everything. Reporter people listening to mayors speech today said he didnt sound sincere. He should have memorized it when he came out. The rifle is a. 22caliber winchester found under a bench at the Macarthur Bart station. Police are reviewing Surveillance Video. So far, officials have not been able to link it to any crime. San Francisco Police say there is a recent uptick in cell phone thefts and pokemon go could be to blame. Police say players are easy targets while in search of pokemon. He says the tax is costing his berkeley store quite a bit of money. He and other businesses are organizing to stop soda tax in oakland. San francisco has two new cases of the zika virus. 10 people in the city have now tested positive including two diagnosed in just the past week. City Health Officials say that all of the patients contracted the virus while traveling in other countries. Statewide, there are now 114 confirmed cases. But they are warning people to keep their kids and their pets away. Experts say blue green algae is a growing problem. Now, the creek has flooded many times before and officials have known they needed to do something for decades. They are testing a new app that tells the driver when a traffic signal will change rather than speeding up, they hope drivers will slow down.
