As one firefighter said, it was the biggest rescue hes seen in san zane 35 years. 60 buildings to seven, nearly 200 victims and just three boats. As the hours grew long some residents got tired of waiting and decided enough was enough. This man took a gamble hoping he wouldnt trip and fall. He made it and disagrees with rescue crews who said it was too dangerous. I dont think so, he says. I waited, but when no one came i figured it was time to go. As the water spilled in from coyote creek, it was cold and murky. It became a noxious stew of sewage, dirty diapers, and engine oil. Once on land the victims were decontaminated with soap and water. The elderly, the babies and pets all loaded on to buses for a ride to shelter. Its kind of like something where you dont really believe its happening but it is happening. Feel tired . We knew we were going to have flooding insan jose. We did not know how bad was. And the city has issued a voluntary Evacuation Order for low lying areas along coyote creek between capital expressway and 880. If mayor said if you live in one of these areas, you might want to find a place to sleep at least for tonight. Kiet do, kpix 5. Now to chopper 5 over san jose.
