It happened the morning in Manhattan Beach down south. These pictures of the victim being wheeled to an ambulance. He was bitten near his stomach and hes expected to recover. The shark that bit him was a juvenile about seven feet long. The white shark was attempting to get away from the fisherman when the swimmer intersected the the shark. And the shark ended up biting the swimmer in the torso. There have been a bunch of shark sightings near Manhattan Beach in the past month and they are not uncommon in Northern California as well. A small earthquake rattled the Southern California resort community of big bear lake. The 4. 6 magnitude quake was centered about six miles northwest of the lake resort. Two other small tremors were reported in the same area. No one was hurt and there was no major damage reported. One gift shop reported some broken souvenirs and a rock slide shut down a section of a nearby highway. Its not clear whether the quake triggered that.
