A car leading police on a high speed chase crashes in san jose and it may have hit a Highway Patrol car. Good morning, you know, were live here on the scene of an active investigation as chp are clearing the scene here and combing through this vehicle for more evidence. But what we have heard so far is that this started as a car that was speeding that white honda that you see there was speeding in at a rate of more than 100 miles an hour. This is going 101 through gilroy. Thats what prompted them to try to pull this car over. When they tried, the car just kept on going. It went north on 101 into the south bay and the south part of the county. Went on 101 on to 880, 237, highway 85, highway 71. This is where it crashed just off moorpark and 280. And it turns out that the vehicle then turned over rolled over a couple of times. The driver was gravely injured taken to the hospital where that driver died. The female passenger did survive and is talking with officers right now. There was one patrol car here. If you pan here to the left, this suv, chp suv, actually hit a street sign, the street sign then damaged the windshield. The two officers inside suffered cuts to their hands but looks like they will be okay. But yes, stolen vehicles coming out of the south part of the county, they chased it all over. They said they were determined to pull this driver over because it was posing a danger to the public. And it ended in a fatality out here in san jose. So if you are heading out in this area you stay away from moorpark avenue and 280. They will be out here for at least a couple more hours. Live in san jose, kiet do, kpix 5. Police were looking for suspects from last weeks terror attacks in paris. Two people died and and seven were arrested. This just in, french authorities may have thwarted a planned second wave of attacks. This happened in the suburb of saintdenis north of paris the site a little more than a mile from Frances National stadium. The same stadium that suicide bombers attacked last friday. Its been a morning of dramatic fastmoving events in the paris suburb. We dont know the names of those killed or arrested. Police say that they used a combination of Text Messages, intel and eyewitness accounts to bring them to this exact location. About 3 blocks away from where were standing now is where at 4 00 our time police honda in and conducted that raid. There were explosions and a barrage of bullets. Two people were killed. A female suicide bomber who blew herself up and a man who was killed by a sniper. Seven additional people were taken into custody. Five men found inside of that apartment and two people a man and a woman who were found outside, all brought into custody. At this point, their identities still unclear. We also know that police were hoping to find inside Abdelhamid Abaaoud. He is the mastermind behind these attacks, the believed mastermind. Up until today, the belief was at least according to intelligence officials that he was in syria. Whats changed . Enough information for officials to focus in on the apartment here in saintdenis. Why do they think the mastermind was there . Reporter yeah. You know, thats a good question. Really, right now, we dont know exactly what the intelligence was that they had to go off on. The past 48 hours theres been over 300 different raids throughout the country. 104 people are under house arrest. Through that questioning, more intel is being collected leading to more leads. Its unclear what exactly led officials to believe that abaaoud may be in the apartment here in saintdenis but they had enough information to lead them there and to conduct this attack. We are waiting for confirmation of the 7 arrested people and we are hoping to hear from prosecutors in the coming hours. Whats the mood right there now . Jonathan . Reporter yeah. Tense. Certainly, it brings a sense of security, of course. But its a reminder of really how insecure the situation still is. There are two fugitives we now know Salah Abdeslam one of the attackers from friday and this second attacker that was addressed yesterday. They are still at large. And now of course this mastermind who was thought to be in syria now were learning could possibly be here so three people and this growing network of terrorists really adding to this overall unease here on the streets. Reporter there are a few dozen Homeless People and advocates still camping out here in front of berkeleys old city hall. They say that this is an attack on berkeleys most vulnerable. These measures still need to be approved officially. They still need to have a second reading. But last night, they passed through the council 63. So they will probably be enacted. Among the rules, a person can only take up to two square feet on a sidewalk with their belongings. They can also or actually going to the bathroom in public would be outlawed as would lying in planters. Berkeley of course has a long history of opening its arms to the homeless but its mayor says things have gotten out of control. A lot people feel like its not a welcoming place and they dont want to come to berkeley because they find people there on the sidewalks with all of the stuff surrounding them and people defecating and urinating in public. It makes it harder for us to survive out here. Yeah. People are going to die behind these new rules, without a doubt. Reporter the ordnances would also add more services, more public bathrooms in Downtown Berkeley and Storage Units for personal belongings including peoples shopping carts.
