Riley was a talented College Baseball player and he was simply staring at his phone saturday night in aquatic park near Ghirardelli Square when a stranger shot and killed him. Police are asking witnesses to come forward because there was no camera in the area. The pillowcase rapist is back in a state Mental Health facility this morning. 65yearold Christopher Hubbart has admitted to raping at least 40 women most of them in santa clara county. Despite protests from prosecutors and his victims, he was released from a Psychiatric Hospital two years ago. But then taken back into custody yesterday. Now, officials wont say why. But they say that he is not accused of a new crime. Pg e was found guilty on a number of charges after the san bruno pipeline explosion. The city of san bruno says that they are pleased with the verdict but some are saying that the possible penalty is not enough. Sandra osborne reports. The Utility Company could be fined 3 million. Reporter with what this neighborhood has been through, many are saying the penalties need to be higher for pg e. A federal jury convicting the company on one count of obstruction of justice for interfering with the investigation into that explosion which killed 8 people and destroyed more than 30 homes. The other 5 felony convictions were knowingly failing to inspect and test its gas pipeline for any additional danger. But heres where things are getting controversial today. Theres a maximum fine of 500,000 per count meaning that fines can only be 3 million. The number was reduced by federal prosecutors last week from 562 million. A fine this small is obviously completely insignificant to pg e. Pg e is a corporation. There is only one language corporations understand and that language is money. So this is the equivalent of a slap on the wrist for a murder charge. We have been talking about that all morning but now the significant changes, roqui, happens to be that the ceiling is lowering and as a result, we have delays now at sfo on some arriving flights at 37 minutes. But typically, for this time of the year, this tenth day of the month of august, this is not out of the question. Its not out of the picture. We do have that deck of low clouds and fog that usually penetrates the coast into our bay areas and even march locally into about 50, 60 miles. Temperatures now into the 50s. Its 51 degrees in santa rosa. Its now 57 degrees in livermore. Now, the air quality today will be moderate anywhere from the beaches from the bay into our inland areas. The moderate air quality all because of the smoke particulate getting caught up in the upper atmosphere from the fire that continues to burn over there to the south in monterey county, thats because our winds today will be more of a southerly and southwesterly flow 10 to 20. Right now they are fluctuating all over the place west southwest at 6 in San Francisco. Southeast at 7 in Mountain View. San jose you have been breezy all morning. Now winds up to 17. 12 in the fairfield area. Napa clocking a wind speed at 16. Right now the coast obviously socked in. We do have a little partial clearing around the san mateo coastline because of that wind fluctuation this morning. For the most part its a thinner deck of low clouds and fog so well see some burnoff with a sliver of sunshine at the immediate seashore.
