This morning at 36. 7 feet at 4. 5 feet above flood stage. The Russian River rose to about that level earlier this week on tuesday. So this is a double whammy. Homes and businesses near the Russian River banks were once again flooded and as soon as the waters receded here we are again. People who live around here though are taking it all in stride. Everybody is doing well in the neighborhood. This is pretty normal. But the storm we had a couple of weeks ago was by far worse. Theres no water in our well, theres a little bit of water in our basement but nothing like a few weeks ago. Reporter and then theres trouble at the Mark West Creek in west Sonoma County which joins with the Russian River. Trees and branches down around its banks. Its normally less than a half foot deep but today, it is approaching 10 feet in some stretches. And then theres a possibility of mudslides in the hills here in wine country. Our crews checked on some of the homes above guerneville in danger of tumbling around christmastime and they are still redtagged. Again, you can see the water levels here behind me high and they are going to rise about 4 feet within the next five hours. Live in guerneville, anne makevoc, kpix 5. Right now, some areas are getting dried out and others are still slammed. Yeah. Anne makovec was just asking me a very interesting question a couple of minutes ago, saying okay, are we seeing more rain in this particular area where she is this morning in guerneville than anywhere else in the bay area . And its been going hand in hand when we forecast six inches of rain in the north bay, six inches also in the Santa Cruz Mountains. I try to pull some stats together really fast and where she stands we are 196 of normal. I mean, nearly 200 of normal. And just slightly below that in portions like ben lomond. So good morning, everybody. We still have the rain but we are keeping a watchful eye on the Russian River in the guerneville area where it did crest as anne was saying on this past tuesday. Its already one foot above flood stage cresting at about 37 feet at 11 a. M. So with that kind of forecast, you know there will be moderate flooding in the area. Also mentioned in central Sonoma County, that red highlighted area, that is a Flood Warning in effect for the Mark West Creek also the town of santa rosa, also all of sebastopol, graton and cotati. We have a lot of flooding going on there and its still raining. A break in the north bay now.
