This affects all ac transit and alamo and the contra costa counties alameda and contra costa counties. Now, just a few minutes ago, i asked the president if this was timed with the b. A. R. T negotiations. She told me no. This comes along a time when b. A. R. T is also negotiating, too. Well, whats going on, it could be a coincidence, but our strike notice is not timed for the b. A. R. T negotiations. The b. A. R. T negotiations are totally separate from the negotiations that ac transit and local 192 have. So our primary focus is on local 192 z the memberships and the public. Reporter as for what ac transit, the district has to say, they are not offering any comment right now, liz. At ninety nonane have been scheduled so as it stands right now, they are set to strike thursday morning. Wow. If both strike it will be a catastrophe for the commute julia, thank you. Bay area transit managers are brace for the worse given the knowledge we have heard in the last few minutes. They are already planning alternatives for getting people around. Those watching the cameras can actually keep traffic flowing around the bay. If there is a b. A. R. T strike extra operators will be on duty. As bad as a b. A. R. T strike will be, it will be worse if there is any kind of accident. They can send tow trucks or clean up crews or control metering lights. Even the chp has a seat. Traffic during the last b. A. R. T strike, even on a lighter than usual holiday week was heavy.
