The real danger is this fire was started when temperatures were well over 100 degrees. The fire on north kay street was started in broad daylight with witnesses all around. It was so high, so big. While firefighters knocked down the flames, Livermore Police stopped and questioned the 17yearold boy who was seen walking away from the fire by a up s driver making deliveries. The juvenile was arrested after officers found a firesetting device in his pocket. Did he have a lighter. Yes. Cigarettes . No. A lighter and no cigarettes. Suspicious. Suspicious. Fires started one after another on friday night. Two of them started well after we the first one was burning. They all happened near livermore avenue. Somebody seems to be on a mission to do bad. In each of the cases dry grass has been set on fire close to homes and businesses. So far, no structures have burn. Very scary to know it was so close to home. Police say he told them he was just passing through the area. He doesnt live in this particular neighborhood. He has been questioned downtown by the Livermore Police department. Reporter we know this fire started around 4 30 this afternoon here in san jose. As you can see, firefighters are still working hard to put out this twoalarm fire. We know that two units have been completely destroyed. The Department Said it received several 911 calls from people who reported heavy smoke and flames. Two other units suffered water damage. We also know that the embers landed on the roof of a nearby unit, but firefighters luckily were able to put out those flames pretty quickly.
