A tech entrepreneur in Mountain View busted for running websites the feds are linking to child prostitution. Kpix 5s len ramirez on how this case is tying into a nationwide sting. Len. Its also well known and used by officers investigating prostitution including those recently involved in a nationwide operation that we rode along with. Couple of girls at this reporter when undercover officers set out to investigate reports of underaged girls involved in prostitution, they used a handful of websites to provide tips. Theres like different advertising sites that are out, you know, theres like myredbook. What are the ages they said . Potentially young as 12. Reporter on this day all the people work there is were adults and none arrested but six bay area children were rescued during the operation crosscountry. Bay area Law Enforcement community is committed to abolishing this form of modernday slavery. Reporter federal agents raided two south bay locations arresting two people and seizing several boxes of evidence including business documents and computer hardware from this home in an upscale Mountain View neighborhood. Most of the changes would be on streets now 35 miles an hour. Im interested in reducing speed limits in the city especially where there have been accidents and killings of pedestrians. Reporter its part of the plan to have zero pedestrian deaths by the year 2020. Last year there were 21. If you are hit at 40 miles an hour or over, its a huge chance that youre going to be injured severely. Its its at 25 miles an hour and youre hit, theres about a 5 chance that will it be a serious injury. Reporter this is not a new idea. New york did it. London is moving to 20 miles an hour. So is paris. I think its a good idea. It will make the streets safer especially for bikes. A lot of people go pretty fast like around downtown and like high traffic areas so it will be safer for pedestrians and cyclists alike. This is slow in the city. Reporter carlos has seen it from all sides. He used to be a professional driver. Now he is in a wheelchair traveling around town. He doesnt like the idea. People dont Pay Attention as much as they should in areas like this. But to lower the speed limit would just make traffic worse. San francisco taxi drivers taking a stand in sacramento today against those Rideshare Companies. A proposed law would mean tougher insurance requirements for Companies Like uber and lyft. But cabbies say even that doesnt go far enough. They lined up in San Francisco this morning and caravaned to sacramento to protest the bill. Cabbies say Rideshare Companies are taking away their business. Now that uber and lyft have oversaturated the roads with these efforts to enlist so many new drivers, its they are not making any money either and were just driving around in a big giant parking lot. The bill comes after 6year old sophia liu was struck and killed in San Francisco by an ubercontracted driver. His app was on at the time, but he was not transporting anyone. And uber has denied any responsibility. Construction in San Franciscos central subway just hit a big milestone digging wrapping up today. Kpix 5 reporter don ford tells us neighbors who have dealt with ongoing noise are getting relief. Reporter from the outside you would hardly know that history is being made on the inside the first of two giant cutting heads being lifted out of the tunnel they just finished digging. Although the main bores are finished it hasnt been easy on the neighborhood. For months traffic has been choked with constant dust and noise. Worked all night and has little tractors and things beeping. Reporter next door is the pelligrini restaurant. Its been tough on business. And owner dario hajan wants the neighborhood back to normal. Hopefully, this is the end of the tunnel and, you know, we start seeing some of this Major Construction go away. Reporter down in the hole you can see where both machines stopped. It will take months to remove the rest of the 750ton drilling machines working on the 1. 5 billion project. Were at a point where were pulling the tunnel boring machines out and by the end of the year these machines will be gone and so will we. Reporter but when something this big comes out of the ground, folks stop to see. Wow reporter although today is a big milestone, it will still be at least another five years before this system opens to the public. In San Francisco, don ford, kpix 5.
