Cordileone is also dropping the effort to designate teachers as ministers meaning fewer rights to challenge workplace rules. All this comes as some lawmakers are called for an investigation. The archbishop says he only wants to clarify that teachers should not publicly be contradicting catholic doctrine. Santa clara county supervisors are letting the

will be used to pinpoint phones connected to criminal activity and to locate missing people. But critics argue it would allow authorities to listen to calls and collect texts from innocent people. Sheriffs

The dramatic coastline the fingerprint of the sea floor and the swells of the pacific deliver world class breaks like clockwork. But today, the pacific delivered some bad news. I got to say, its a total bummer if its true. So this is something we have never tried before. Reporter nadine golden is a data cruncher for the usgs. She helped put together a landmark study of the california coastline giving scientists an intensely detailed look at the sea floor and how the ocean swirls above it. This is the extremes, um, for wave heights. Reporter other scientists have already taken her data and predicted the future. Factoring in rising sea levels and changing pacific weather patterns. They think the beloved surfing spots of santa cruz could become victims of a changing climate. It cuts to the core. It really im serious. It really does. Reporter the graceful art of riding a wave depends on some complex hydrology under the boards. But i know some surfers can do it in a second, you know, some really good surfers could look out and tell you those are breaking one meter coming into shore. Reporter as we learn morsiens can predict what was once unthinkable the world famous coast of santa cruz where the perfect swells are only the stuff of legend. The thought of future serious issues with ocean levels rising and the disappearance of world class breaks like this, thats, um, thats just its disappointing to even think about. Jonathan Young<\/a> discovered surprised even him. Trying to get really clear pictures to confirm the identification so there was no question that this was a gray fox. Reporter using his cell phone through an old pair of binoculars he managed these rare images of a gray fox high up a tree. The fox isnt rare but its more than 10 years since one was seen in the presidio. After 2004, sometime around that period, they were functionally extinct from the park. Reporter thats when coyotes preyed on the foxes but this sighting indicates it returned to the presidio maybe by crossing the golden gate bridge. When people are hiking is there a chance someone else might see them . Definitely. Reporter the presidio has miles of trails and wildlife ecologists are asking if you see any animals in the park to use your cell phone take a photo and upload it to an app called inaturallist. The park reviews all photos and will identify the animal for you. This is a charismatic animal. Reporter they have placed motion activated game cameras nut bluffs. But to fatten them up they are fed a massive amount of wild sardines and that puts pressure on sardines. She wants a more sustainable source.
