At the same time, the suspect surrendered and came out of the garage with both hands up. He had a cigarette in his mouth. Officers detained him, dragged him away to make sure no one else was inside. Its a tragedy what happened. But thank god they are out alive and safe. Reporter no one was hurt in this incident. Now, the wife of the gas station other than tells us that the suspect apparently told the gas station other than and the manager that wasnt trying to hurt them, he just wants to get away. Police say the suspect then drove to concord, stole another vehicle and then went back to antioch where he tried and failed to take a third car. Meanwhile, dispatchers were doing their best to keep up with the rolling crime spree. The gun was a revolver and employee confirming its a charging. We are still working on a plate. After failing in his third carjacking attempt, the suspect respect ran. Viewers sent us some video of what happened next. He running, he running. He been running through the gas station. He gave us information how the police were able to keep track of the suspect as he is running around the east bay here stealing cars at gunpoint. Now, according to the police chief, when the suspect got into the car stolen from antioch, there was a smartphone inside. And then when he got out of the car in concord and stole another car, police say the suspect took that smartphone with him. That allowed police to track him as headed back here to antioch to commit more crimes. Of course, any Investigative Lead helps. This was a situation where we used available technology. And i will tell you that at some point during the pursuit he recognized that the cell phone was in the vehicle and discarded it which was since collected but by then he was already recognized by us and we were in pursuit. The hunt is on for a suspect in a Home Invasion robbery. You can see from chopper 5 the large number of police over by 580 and 98th avenue in oakland. They have been searching by ground and air for over an hour. Three suspects are already under arrest. They were caught when the car they were in crashed after a chase. From the video you can see the car along the side of the freeway. It is the white one. We are told the Home Invasion happened in castro valley.
