We do believe its a handgun based on the way the shots sounded and the injuries to the Police Officers. Reporter demonstrators had gathered at the Police Station after the mayor announced Ferguson Police chief tom jackson was stepping down. He was under pressure to resign following a Justice Department report that found widespread racial bias in the mostly white police force. Last summer a Ferguson Police officer shot and killed unarmed teen michael brown. Officer Darren Wilson was later cleared of any wrongdoing. The incident sparked unrest for months. A south bay chase ends with two carjacking suspects in handcuffs. Kpix 5s keit do explains how police finally caught the two men in sunnyvale. Reporter our cameras were rolling when two carjacking suspects were loaded into ambulances. A San Jose Police k9 a German Shepherd had just bitten them both. Did the dog bite hurt . A few hours earlier dozens of Law Enforcement officers from all over the south bay had the sunnyvale neighborhood near fremont avenue and highway 85 surrounded. Police say the two suspects carjacked an suv in East San Jose at midnight and led officers on a highspeed chase that spanned nearly 20 miles. Investigators say the member fled into Stevens Creek after ditching the vehicle and tossing their guns. Neighbors started calling in reports of someone jumping into their backyards. Five years ago, new immigrants asked joan to help oaklands growing burmese refugee population. She organized health fairs offering free checkups, patient surveys revealing troubling trends. The great majority of them were not employed. Almost all of them were under the federal poverty line and the great majority of them under the line for extreme poverty. Reporter many could not read or write. And even bay area translators werent speaking their language. So joan took action. Cant get Asian Health Services which is just opening this clinic in 2010. We opened the clinic to this new population thats largely unserved. Reporter they did. And she secured grants to help the new immigrants navigate the way from how to fill a prescription to how to find a job. And she formed a mothers group. Here she teaches parenting skill to mongolian moms tsomuka ebo. I like the personal touch and also communicating with other parents. Reporter and joans kept up with the communitys needs.
