Elizabeth, thank you. New developments this morning in the search for that missing malaysian passenger plane. Australia says two objects spotted in the indian ocean could potentially be connected. Bad weather is causing problems for crews to recover the objects. Reporter australian Prime Minister tony abbott says they are looking into objects found floating off of the coast of australia. The Australian Maritime Safety Authority has received information based on satellite imagery of objects possibly related to the search. Following specialists analysis of this satellite imagery, two possible objects related to the search have been identified. Reporter australian officials believe one of the objects is close to 79 feet in size. It is probably the best lead we have right now. But we need to get there, find them, see them, assess them to know whether its really meaningful. Reporter while the lead is promising in the 13day search, authorities are cautious. The malaysian military says it will take time to verify. More than 60 ships and 50 aircraft have been on the hunt for the missing plane covering a search area of nearly 3 million square miles. Malaysian Officials Say crews are continuing to search for the plane in other areas. Some developing news from the north coast where a Mendocino County sheriffs deputy is dead at the hands of a gunman on a twostate crime spree. Mendocino county sheriff was very emotional during wednesdays press conference as he gave the details of what led up to the death of deputy ricky del fiorentino. It started when his killer carjacked a couple in eugene yesterday morning and locked them in the trunk. He drove south got into a shootout in the town of piercy before speeding off and killing the deputy in cleone near fort bragg. Been our. 5 before the suspect Ricardo Chaney killed deputy del fiorentino he ended up at a tourist attraction in piercy. John mills saw him near the restroom. He told chaney to leave but instead the suspect got in his car and grabbed a shotgun. The first shot went off, and i said, oh, f, and i rolled in this way and closed the door and it shut just as he fired hitting that. Then it went out that window over there on some of it. If my aim had been better, there would be another daddy going home tonight. Reporter mills fired back but couldnt stop the suspect. Chaney drove down to fort bragg where deputy del fiorentino confronted him along a dirt road. The suspect fired multiple shots killing the deputy. Other officers responded and another gun battle ensued. Earlier wednesday we thought that the suspect killed himself. After he got in the shootout with officers. But Mendocino County sheriff told a local newspaper it was a Fort Bragg Police officer who killed the suspect. Reporting live in the newsroom, cate caugiran, kpix 5. Deputy del fiorentino grew up in napa. He had been with the Mendocino County mendocino Sheriffs Office for 16 years. Police are looking for an armed man who tied up a 66year old woman in her san mateo home then stole her bank card. Investigators say this is a surveillance photo of the man using the victims atm card. Police say the man was originally burglarizing the home on edinburgh street monday when the woman arrived home and surprised him. This is isolated, not what usually happens in san mateo so this is of great concern to us. The victim was able to break free and call police. She was treated for minor injuries. A wine connoisseur of sorts facing charges now. Napa county Authorities Say a vacaville man stole 400,000 worth of wine. American Canyon Police say jose pena stole 350 cases of the wine undetected because he worked at the wine warehouse. Investigators found more than 73,000 from the sales of that wine at his home. They also found cases of stolen wine in a nearby warehouse. Kentucky senator rand paul fired up a crowd at cal yesterday picking on the intelligence community, he says he is worried and demanded an investigation into domestic spying. We learned that the cia is illegally searching the computers of the Senate Intelligence committee. They are the ones supposed to be overseeing the cia. That worries me. Only on 5 this morning, the department of agriculture is banning some Bay Area Ranchers from selling thousands of pounds of grassfed beef. Its all connected to the Rancho Feeding Corporation which shut down its petaluma processing plant. That plant is now under criminal investigation because of allegations it actually processed diseased animals. Several beef ranchers had their meat processed there so the usda cannot ensure their products are not contaminated. New this morning, customers of another local Water District are being asked for help to get through the drought. Last night, the contra costa Water District board approved a voluntary reduction in water use. 250,000 customers are being urged to cut water use by 15 . Experts say most customers can accomplish this by reducing the amount of yard watering. The district serves central contra costa county. Looks like another nail in the coffin for san joses classic century theaters on winchester boulevard. According to the business journal, the company that owns santana row has entered a long term lease for the land that the theaters sit on. Speculation is the domed movie houses will be razed to make way for another urban village. Meanwhile, preservationists keep pushing for historic status for the 1960s era theaters. Were talking about 31 acres of land here as you said right in between 101 and 880. Just a couple of blocks away from the airport in between two casinos. Were talking about 10 buildings a total of 7 stories tall each, two million square feet total. It will be as the kids say ginormous with enough room for up to 10,000 employees making it one of the largest projects in the Silicon Valley. Now, the big question, who can afford the estimated 700 million price tag . Theres only one person in the entire city of san jose who knows the name of that Mystery Company. He is not saying. I cant tell how company x is. But theres a Company Behind the Peery Arrillaga project. Its not a spec building. Its a big company, 2 million square feet of office space, the largest deal in san jose since the internet boom went bust and one of the largest in the history of the city. Reporter the name of the developing is Peery Arrillaga. Topnotch, done campuses for hp and apple and they declined to comment. How about incentives . Did the city get anything in return . Reporter the city had to offer the Company Incentives to bring them here. They gave them tax breaks and breaks on the permits. So it came up to a couple million bucks. The city is hoping to bring in about 7 million per year in property taxes alone which hopefully more than makes up for all the discounts they gave this company. Reporter at this point they havent locked up all the details and a lot of these tech companies, they like to keep stuff close to the vest because they doesnt want to give competitive advantage to any of the other companies out there that might be trying to steal their market share or products or ideas. Their teacher is an inspiration. The teacher is absolutely incredible. So he brings so much knowledge and enthusiasm to the program. He is very passionate. Its a blast to watch his classes. And if you are a mass transit rider, everything is moving right along so far. They have more than 30 trains on time so they have been having a few hiccups lately but everything looks good now. Ferries, caltrain and ace also reporting no delays. Hitting roads now that were past 5 00, a lot of the overnight roadwork is cleared including at the bay bridge toll plaza. The lanes are all open. Metering lights are off. So everything is quiet all the way into the city.
