Its very very thick. In pleasanton this morning. It was scary in parts of the east bay. Didnt clear out until parts of the Castro Valley. Just be careful out there. Always good advice under any circumstances. New this morning a San Leandro Police officer is hospitalized after the car was rammed by a suspected stolen car. Police chased the car into east oakland about 8 00 last night. It rammed the car and officers opened fire on the car wounding one of the suspects. The officer was treated and released from a local hospital. The shot who was shot is listed in suspect who was shot is listed in grave condition. On deaths involving police. Police used tear gas as demonstrators took over highway 24. Stopped traffic and also set fire to several stores were damaged along telegraph avenue. The protesters started in berkeley last night and marched down the avenue into oakland. And thats where a group blocked an intersection at 52nd street and kept police cars from moving. Dozens of protesters went on to highway 24. Stopped traffic there for about half an hour. They started a fire before marching off the freeway at claremont avenue. One protester who tried to stop alert was attacked looter was attacked with a hammer. Five arrests and two officers were injured. There were at least six arrests during violent protests saturday night and sunday morning in berkeley. It started peacefully but a small group started throwing things at police. Several Police Officers were hit and several cars were vandalized as well. At least two people were hurt when a driver ran into some protesters in Southern California. About 50 people were blocking a busy intersection in riverside saturday night. Police say a driver failed to stop. After hitting two people, he took off. The protesters injuries though were not serious. And taking a plot this protest in look at this protest in philadelphia following the eagles game last night. Hundreds o people staged a die in. The ongoing protests are in response to the recent grand jury decision both of them actually not to indict white Police Officers in the deaths of black men. Happening today in san jose, at slow cats fight for the former residents at a large homeless encampment known as the jungle. It was cleared out last week about 200 people were living there. And this morning, groups like the Community Homeless Alliance Ministry and the Affordable Housing network will protest the jungle. They say they stand in solidarity with the homeless that were evicted. People in a san jose neighborhood say the situation is getting worse. Police report 27 burglaries in the evergreen district in just the last ten days. Residents have been demanding action for months. They want a mobile Police Command center stationed there in evergreen along with stepped up patrols. So far, theres no word on what san jose plans to do. A sacramento firefighter will be arraigned tomorrow on burglary and elder abuse charges. 30yearold craig white is accused of stealing from mobile homeowners in citrus heights. Police say he would tell residents he was there to inspect smoke detectors but then they saithe searched you this he searched through peoples drawers and cabinets and stole prescription drugs. Otherwise right now just a little bit of light showers noted in between cloverdale and windsor along highway 101. North bay we have light showers likely today. Everywhere else you can carry the umbrella to be on the safe side but generally speaking mostly cloudy conditions. 51 to 58 degrees the winds are nonexistent. Blow out of the southeast up to 15 today and light showers in the north bay and pockets of dense fog out the door this morning and then rain and wind very heavy on thursday and friday. Most notably beginning in the north bay Late Afternoon hours. We have a brief break on tuesday. Use that day to make sure you clear out the gutters and anything you need to do to batten down the houses and all those Christmas Decorations on the lawn because we have heavy rain, perhaps as much as 10 inches in the highest locations of the north bay mountains.
