Highway 24 not backed up to that extent but its a rough commute anyway that stretch. So yeah, if you are commuting later on, bart might be a good option, as well. Right now through the Altamont Pass and the Livermore Valley though things look typical. Looks okay. Once you get past 680 thats where the traffic jams up. Authorities stood guard this morning outside a building east of paris as French Police raided an apartment looking for those two remaining fugitives. They are looking for two brothers for the attack that killed 12 people. It was well organized, planned and executed. An 18yearold suspect already turned himself in. Security is increased across france. Hundreds of soldiers are now guarding media offices, place of worship and other sites. Hundreds gathered outside the french consulate in San Francisco to grieve for the 12 victims in paris. Police shut down kearney street because of the large crowds. Many of the mourners are french expatriates. They carried signs, waved french flags and held up pens to represent the power of the print word. Evacuees are back home in Contra Costa County after concerns about a propane leak were put to rest. Six homes were evacuated in pittsburg late yesterday afternoon after a leak was found on a train car. It was discovered during a routine inspection at a railyard. It turned out the substance was not propane but lubricating oil. It took a while for workers to figure that out so the six homes near parkside drive and railroad avenue were evacuated for three hours. State Health Experts are linking a small Measles Outbreak to disney atlanta. Kpix 5s keit do joins us now live outside the state department of Public Health offices in downtown san jose. Reporter the California Department of Public Health is now getting involved, this after they had discovered a case and linked it to one in Alameda County. Officials believe it is one person who entered the park and then spread the disease to others. Nine of these confirmed cases all had one thing in common and that is they visited either disneyland or disney california Adventure Park between december 15 and december 20. Seven of the nine cases were from california. The other two are from utah. Six patients were not vaccinated but two were too young to get vaccinated. One doctor says this should be a wakeup call for parents. They dont believe that measles is a serious disease and they are worried about vaccine adverse effects and because of that, their children are susceptible and they can get the disease and then they can transmit it to others. Reporter according to the cdc, there were only 100 measles cases nationwide in 2001. That number is up to 600 last year. Supreme court to toss out an Alameda County law that requires the companies to pay for the collection and disposal of unwanted prescription pills. Its an effort to prevent the medications from getting into the wrong hands or into the water supply. The drugmakers contend the law interferes with the free flow of goods. A project to speed up caltrain in the south bay is expected to cause more traffic. Drivers say seven key intersections between San Francisco and san jose would be much slower due to the more frequent service by the caltrain. The 1. 5 billion project should accommodate nearly double the ridership by the year 2040. It will switch the trains from diesel to electric power. 13 former Flight Attendants are suing united. Reporter grace lam is one of 13 Flight Attendants filing a retaliation claim with osha against united for what happened that day. The boeing landed at 11 a. M. From seoul, south korea and was scheduled to take off at 2 p. M. Until someone noticed the message 30 feet off the ground. You cannot reach it without equipment. Reporter that led the Flight Attendants to believe that nobody checked the plane in the states or south korea. The Flight Attendants began asking questions as the take off delay wore on, passengers told it was due to a mechanical issue. The Flight Attendants realized that as common sense would dictate, and as faa regulations dictate, that in the face of this kind of threat an airline is required to actually deplane the passengers, get them off the plane, and do a security sweep of the plane. They didnt do that. Reporter thats when united management ordered the attendants to take the flight. They refused and flight 869 was canceled. I have no regrets at all. If this happens again today, all over again, i would have done the same thing. This is just any Flight Attendant would have done this. This is our job. We believe that with the idea of it including the possibility of the major track and field arena, a stadium being built in oakland that could accommodate the raiders, that is a good combination. But meanwhile, olympic opponents recently sent a letter to the Selection Committee listing their objections to the games coming to the bay area. At the forefront, the enormous cost. The committee actually has until midseptember to make its decision, then that u. S. City would go up against others from around the world. A 53foot trailer on its side westbound 580 just past west of the foothill san ramon exit. Its going to be until 8 00 or 9 00 this morning before they can reopen those two lanes. So of course this is one of the worst commutes in the bay area anyway. Right now its stacked up just beyond the dublin interchange to about hopyard. But within the next hour or so, you can expect traffic to really get bad probably through the Livermore Valley, expect extra delays on 84. If you can get on the freeway once you reach eden canyon, Castro Valley area, you can get past all that accident backup. Bart is also a good idea.
