It continues to be accident free all around the bay area. Shhh even the overnight roadwork is clear now if you are heading between sausalito and the span. There was some overnight roadwork and lanes blocked but it was scheduled to wrap up at 5 00. You can see hazy conditions as you head out the door. Hazy conditions or dirty cameras sometimes its hard to tell you about westbound 92 is Holding Steady at 13 minutes out of hayward to the peninsula. Westbound roadwork clear in livermore and this commute obviously looks a whole lot better today than it did yesterday. No shhhing there. I guess it looks packed but, you know, this was the commute yesterday that got slammed by that overturned beer truck. So things are smoother out of the Livermore Valley today and out of the altamont pass. 880 the roadwork is also gone, hegenberger to 98th. Northbound traffic is fine into downtown oakland. If you are a Silicon Valley driver, thats at 880 and 237, as you can see, theres plenty of space between you and the car in front of u mass transit looks good. A lot of space. All right. That looks good. The Golden Gate Bridge, thats going to be the big deal this weekend. Its going to shut down for the weekend starting at midnight tonight. Electronic signs having warning drivers. New this morning for the first time, california is making paroled sex offenders take lie detector tests in response to several high profile cases involving parolees who have raped and killed after they got out of prison. The state also is using more tests known as risk assessments to gauge each offenders likelihood of offending again. California has more than 6,000 sex offenders right now on parole. The San Francisco board of supervisors has a new president. London bree representing district five was elected to a twoyear term yesterday. Her district includes the western addition, haight and fillmore neighborhoods. She is the first African American board president since doris ward in 1991. Reporter the dmv has opened four of these new drivers licenses Processing Centers across the state. The san jose facility has an unprecedented 42 workstations with 138 employees who process about 1,000 applications a day. Next in line please . Reporter its sole purpose to handle the tsunami of unlicensed drivers coming out of the shadows. William perez has been driving without a license for nine years and says he will breeze through the testing process. You look pretty confident,. Yeah, i am. I am confident. I want to pass. Its a rite of passage happening in reverse gear for hundreds of thousands of drivers who are already on the road. And the dmv has been incredibly busy in the first three days alone, they got 46,000 applications. And when it comes to that written test, a lot of them are actually failing. Half of them failed the english version. A third of them do not pass i should say a third of them failed the spanish version. So if they didnt have licenses before, that meant they probably didnt have insurance, too, so what are you hearing about that . His name is angel and before he was born, doctors said he wouldnt survive because of a large mass growing in his chest. Well, his mother decided to go through with the pregnancy. He was born six weeks early and a stanford surgeon removed the mass moments after angel was born. It is hard but i said i cant it cant be possible. You know, doctors also make mistakes.
