Rush her children to safety from outside her home on Chestnut Street in west oakland. Now police have arrested 19 yearold anthony sims. He was wounded in the shooting and was later arrested at highland hospital. Mr. Sims was not only present on the day of the murder. But he had an active role in a mutual gun battle. Mondays gunfight erupted after several men got involved in a fistfight between groups of women. One gun was recovered. But police are not saying whether it was used to kill pierce or whether sims fired the fatal shot. Police have released more details about the arrest of 49ers fullback bruce miller. He allegedly assaulted his girlfriend 8 days ago. They got into an argument and he pushed her to the ground and destroyed her cell phone. The alleged attack is just the latest of the off the field problems for the 49ers. Nfl as an organization should stand up against abuse, should stand up against domestic violence. They should be held to a higher standard because of that because they are the nfl. You know . Everyone does look up to them. Were going to talk about the Altamont Pass which generally backs up first of all for commutes in the bay area. 580 looks okay so far. So we are going to call it friday light just a little blip of slow traffic for west 580 just as you approach the 205 interchange. Now, the bay bridge commute, you have the same roadwork you have there almost every morning. Its the two right lanes shut down westbound 80 as you travel across the bridge heading into downtown San Francisco. But its not doing much to slow down your commute there. 880 as it rolls through the oakland area, all lanes are open for you. Traffic is moving well in both directions of 880 as you roll through the oakland area through hayward bound for fremont wide open so far with no roadwork left over from overnight. Heading for the Golden Gate Bridge, you can see the zipper crews our friend paul working on the zipper truck and in a few moments well have four southbound lanes we dont know if thats his or her name but southbound traffic is looking okay leaving the waldo tunnel heading into San Francisco. And heading for the san mateo bridge do keep in mind there are two lanes of traffic shut down for roadwork. This is in both directions of the span between hayward and foster city. So you can expect some delays closer to midspan and if you look closely you can see the backups there the red brake lights for westbound 92 approaching midspan because of overnight construction. Cook reportedly offered jobs part of his liver back in 2009 when jobs health was failing. Thats according to the magazine fast company which quotes the upcoming book, becoming steve jobs. The report says jobs turned down the offer. The report offers this quote about the conversation from cook. It was not are you sure you want to do this . It was not ill think about it. San franciscos Fire Department got a muchneeded gift to help with water rescues. Firefighters are testing out new wet suits donated by a Foundation Named for peter madigan. His family says the he wanted to join the Aquatic Rescue Team but died unexpectedly from heart disease. In the past firefighters had to provide their own wet suits. Snare mayor sam liccardo says he has found the money to expand Library Hours in san jose. As kpix 5s len ramirez reports, its thanks in part to an improving city budget. Reporter for most or all of these childrens lives the library has only been open three or four days a week due to the worst budget crisis in san jose history. Its a tragedy.
