Kpix 5s Jessica Flores is live in martinez where the shots were fired. Jessica. Reporter well, michelle, this is still a very active scene and were still gathering information but what i can tell you is you can see where a vehicle ended up where shots were fired into that vehicle. It appears to be A Brown Camaro from what i can tell over here but police tell us that they have been looking for the suspect for about a week before initiating that Police Shooting. Now, on may 25, Vallejo Police say the suspect was driving recklessly. Police pursued him but he got away. They were able to identify the driver as Kevin Decarlo of vallejo. Then on may 27, Vallejo Police say they spotted the suspect again but according to police he purposely crashed his vehicle into a Police Patrol car then ran off. Then last night, Police Tracked the suspect down here in martinez again officers saying the suspect rammed his vehicle into the officers car and thats when officers began shooting at the suspect. That suspect was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. As you can see, live here, this is still an active scene. I counted at least 10 officers and detectives coming here trying to figure out exactly what happened, how this ended up here. It appears the vehicle is in some type of ditch so we dont know if, um, the car was chased to this location or officers actually made contact at this particular location. Rutvik gandhasri is one of them. The 14yearold from san jose is hoping to score the top prize this time since its the last year he will qualify under the age requirements. So go, rutvik for more than 30 years River Glen School has established its twoway bilingual immersion program. It has become a model for similar programs and its this weeks cool school. It was still really hard learning. Um, but now its not hard. Reporter for the first two years, the school has an 8020 program. 80 of the material is taught in spanish. Even math class. [ speaking spanish ] you would be amazed how fast kids get the second language. Reporter mastering two languages is the main goal but not the only one. This person has been teaching here for nearly 20 years. They learn about different cultures. So it opens their minds up to learning about other people, about the world. Were like a big family, and we help each other. We see it in the classroom, you see how they care about each other. You see how they help each other. And even when the teacher is not asking them to help, they just do it and its Pretty Amazing to watch. Reporter what else is impressive . These third graders are already thinking long term.
