One of the big nest San Francisco. And simon perez gives us a behind the scenes look at the preparation. Reporter Fireworks Company pyro spectacular puts on a big show and crews are setting up 10,000 fireworks that are scheduled to be lit and launched starting at 9 30 tomorrow night. Spectacular. Once they take off. They reach speeds of 400 miles an hour. This is an example of the inside of one of the explosives. The Oakland Fire Department is also increasing their staffing this year. Just to be safe. But they have been through this before. You hear them all night. And now the winds are relatively on the light side. But boy, do they pick up during the Late Afternoon hours. Yesterday. And they will do the same again today. This morning, out of the southwest 18 miles an hour and blowing 10 to 20 and variable during the Late Afternoon. Here it come, the enhancement of that marine layer. Sure it will back off, and then just line the coast later today, but quickly fill back in later on tonight. Meanwhile, the temperature wise, take a good look at them. This is either where we should be for this time of the year, or in the case of livermore about, 5 degrees below average. 70s around vallejo. Benecia. Martinez. Backing all the way to american canyon. And here is what happens next. This Surveillance Video shows a tourist family from utah, leaving their car. Along comes a burglar. He looks through the windows. One by one. And then breaks the glass. And runs away with a purse that had expensive jewelry inside. How long were they gone . I would say like 15 minutes. Jose laos surveillance camera caught this burglary and another similar one almost exactly a year ago. I think it has gotten worse in the last couple of years. I mean that is why i put the cameras up. Like over a year ago. Folks will come in, park the car, usually laden with their travel wares and grab and go. And andrew has seen the criminals in action. And a car hit a lady on lombard and jones. Ran from the house and pushed them to the ground and hopped out of the car and grabbed the purse. Brazen activity. Plain clothes teams and this he make a lot of arrests and i can tell you in the last two months, i can safely say there is probably been over 80 arrests. Of burglary suspects in the Central District alone. Captain paul yep says the Undercover Team busted a car burglar on beech street. And still, he says there were 66 car burglaries just last week. In the Central District. And the numbers are spiking. And they will take anything left in the car. A lot of the items that are stolen are suitcases. Purses. And electronics. Suitcases. Yes. A suitcase is often stolen. Joe vasquez, kpix 5. Right now, police are looking for the vandals who slashed tires and spray painted obscene messages in berkeley. And several cars and gates were tagged last week on hillside avenue and prospect street. The area is just south of memorial stadium, on the cal campus. Detectives believe the incidents may be connected because they happened near each other at about the same time. A big week for the trump administration. Superior Court Workers in San Francisco are facing furloughs to help bridge a 5 million budget gap. Starting a month from today, court staff will have to take off one friday per month without pay. And meanwhile, winds around the bay right now, relatively under 10 miles an hour but the National Weather service is also reporting a southwest wind at 18. In fairfield. So linda, your weather station is spoton. Lets take a look at the satellite radar. We do have first off, a trough to the north of the bay area. And that has been enhancing our marine layer. As it does so, we are seeing this marine layer extend all the way to the south in sant rosa, all the way to the south in gilroy. And it does retreat later today. But it will hang pretty tight for the coast. This morning, it is roughly 2,000 feet deep. It will affect our fireworks display later on tonight. At 9 30 around the embarcadero you can count on temperatures 63 degrees at 7 00 p. M. And 60 at 9 00 p. M. We will have partly to mostly cloudy skies. And clear skies inland. For the almeda county fairgrounds, the fireworks, and today, coastal cloudiness for this fourth of july. And tomorrow, a watchful eye on San Benito County and watching monsoon moisture starting to lift in a northerly direction. A warming trend on thursday. Here is the moisture. I have it lifting um. And not so much causing a problem, as far as precipitation is concerned, around monterey county, but fire danger. And again, watch for it tomorrow in monterey county. And 92 degrees in sacramento. And today, 66. Monterey, 81. Greater lake tahoe area, we have 60s, 70s, and 80s. Outside number today will be 87 degrees. That will be towards pretty much the trivalley. 87 degrees also on wednesday. And it just became the First Company to refly a commercial spacecraft to the International Space station and back. Elsa ramon shows us the landing of the dragon capsule. And as you can see, slowly moving away. Dragon released. History was quietly being made high above the earth. The dragon capsule became the first to fly a second time to the International Space station. And Spacexs Dragon is the only cargo ship currently capable of returning hardware back to earth through a splashdown into the pacific ocean. The iss released its grip of the Spacex Dragon cargo ship after spending a month gathering Crucial Research finished by the crew, dragon floated away returning the precious cargo back to earth. Spacex fan Conrad Pinero was impressed with dragons return. I would say revolutionary perhaps. Landing legs are deployed. And the first stage is back. And impressed by the reuse of dragons launch vehicle. Seen here, returning to Cape Canaveral in florida, just minutes after sending dragon on the latest mission back on june 3. It is a game changer i guess. I think it is really awesome. If somebody is a visionary like that. Astronaut jeff fisher tweeted this the moment dragon left the iss. There goes dragon.
