I heard a boom, boom boom boom, look something hit the roof. And im thinking thats odd. Plus an outofthisworld discovery. What one north bay woman found in her own backyard. And a boy stuck between two buildings. The delicate rescue operation crews had to perform to get that little guy out. Coming up. ,,,, turning a 20foot wall into a canvas takes vision. Are you a happy guy today . I am the giants and raiders won and we have the rain back. Its looking good except if you are on the roads. Its going to be slick this morning. Rain picking up in the north bay. Moisture is pumping in off the pacific and rolling in in your direction. This is going to slowly slide across the rest of the bay area throughout the morning so theres plenty more rain to come. A little breezy especially approaching the coastline. Rain just about everywhere you go as we head throughout the morning. So be prepared. Those roads with the first rain usually very slick. This afternoon, looks like it will turn to showers. Temperatures going to be cool. Looks like the trough will camp out. Well see the front move through today. That will bring rainfall, heavy in the morning, showers this afternoon, and more storms through the middle of the week. The clouds and that cold front located in the north bay and then it slides on through. And as we head through the morning, you can see most of the north bay already turns to showers. South bay starting to see heavy amounts of rainfall with the front moving through about 9 00 and then it moves out of town. So we have the big giants game today at 5 00. It looks more like scattered showers so doesnt look like it will be a rainout. They will play but you could see some occasional stops as some of the cells move by. Things settling down in the latter part of the afternoon but not bad. Temperatures in the 50s. I think as we look toward the next couple of days, more showers expected on tuesday. All lanes shut down. They are diverting traffic off the freeway because of flooding in the road. They are hoping to have things wrapped up before the morning commute really gets into full swing there but again you will see delays off the antioch bridge off westbound highway 4. 880 better news. Reports of flooding and a multi vehicle accident on 880 near 980. Thats cleared out and traffic is okay in both directions. But again, slick roads around that area. Traffic alert highway 29 continues at old lawley toll road. Those lanes are shut down right now due to downed power lines in the road. We are starting to see some delays early this morning on the Altamont Pass westbound and eastbound 580 so give yourself some extra time. Drive times still looking okay. Looks like the south bay not too bad. No word of any major accidents or incidents blocking lanes. 101 northbound through san jose clear, 280, as well. Southbound 101 out of marin county into San Francisco, live look at the Golden Gate Bridge still a 13minute drive coming away from 580 but slick surfaces as you can see in our live traffic cam. So be careful heading into San Francisco. Probably a good day to take mass transit. We are seeing no delays for bart, ace, muni, caltrain and ferries. If you want to avoid the roads and rain, use mass transit. There are chain restrictions because of the weather. You will see requirements on 80 and 50. This is a live look at conditions near crystal springs. So looks like some very snowy wet weather up there. Back to you guys. Suddenly its winter. I know. Thank you. Reporter lisa webers house in novato was unusually quiet wednesday night because the giants game was in a rain delay. And i hear this boom, boom boom boom, like something hit the roof. And im thinking thats odd. Reporter two days later she read an article about the meteor that was seen and videotaped across the bay area. She remembered the thump on her roof and decided to look around. I saw one thing. I thought, all right, if thats it great. If not, im done. And sure enough, thats what it was. Reporter a doctor from the Seti Institute said this is a piece of the fireball. He helped track it. He says this is only the 20th meteorite ever found with a known trajectory helping scientists determine the place of its origin. This is a little souvenir of our past, a little photo album that tells us what happened at the time when the solar system was born. Reporter because they were able to track the path of the meteor doesnt mean they thought they would find a piece of the rock because most of this area is just rural open land. It was open in novato, where there was some population, some buildings and so on so we were really fortunate that at least one piece hit a structure here so we learned about it. Reporter he is hoping others will search their neighborhoods between san rafael and sonoma, quickly, before the rain hits. Anything thats out of the ordinary, just check it out.
