At least one death is blamed on the extreme cold. A woman died of hypothermia in st. Paul, minnesota. Lakeeffect snow made for treacherous travel in michigan and more snow is on the way. Near buffalo, new york, folks had to deal with whiteout conditions along the snowcovered roads. Chief meteorologist eric fisher of our boston station wbz says this arctic blast is only the beginning. Dozens of crashes were reported by late yesterday. 30minute commutes turned into fivehour marathons. Hundreds of students were stranded on buses because they were stuck in traffic. We are just the few students who couldnt get out. There were plenty of students who walked in this weather all the way to southeast portland. About 150 miles southeast of there, a moving truck in bend had to be towed from the snow. A measuring stick captured more than a foot of snow in that area and drivers can attest, many drivers had to dig out just to get home. We are going to move on to tech trouble for yahoo . The company says its not sure who is responsible for the largest known cybersecurity breach in history. The digital theft is not recent. It occurred in 2013 more than a year before another massive hack yahoo announced three months ago. More than 1 billion yahoo accounts were compromised in 2013 and the breach in 2014 affected at least 500 million users. The stolen information includes passwords and email addresses and phone numbers and answers to security questions. Its a stepping stone into other sites, so even if that person doesnt keep their Financial Information or medical information online, by having the credentials and logging in, its easy to spoof that person, its easy to act as that person. Yahoo blamed the 2014 attack on an unnamed foreign government.
