Bomb threat. Fremont police are investigating still. One parent said there was a similar threat made on facebook about a week before this incident. She says this has a lot of parents on edge. The quake hit just after 2 00 a. M. , about 14 miles northeast of healdsburg. Even though it was a larger thanusual quake for the area, it does not appear a lot of people felt it. The Sonoma County Sheriffs Department said it only took two calls about the quake. No reports of damage. A new earthquake Warning System just passed in Southern California. Coming up at 7 19. How this could change the way we respond to quakes in the future. Were following developing news. Were getting word of another Carnival Cruise ship in trouble. This time its a cruise ship stucks in phillipsburg on the island of saint martin in the Eastern Caribbean. Several passengers are telling stories of Power Outages and overflowing toilets. This is file video of the carnival dream. The coast guard has been in touch with the ships captain and he told them of trouble with the propulsion system. Here abused by priests have been calling for the church to do more to protect children. A vatican scholar tells us, pope francis may have a more proactive approach dealing with this scandal. Because hes coming from experience in the field that he has been pastor of a major archdiocese. Hes on the front line of dealing with the carousels of questions, the issues of clerical abuse. If you are driving in Contra Costa County, the heaviest traffic is in antioch and bay point. Southbound 680 is slow from Pleasant Hill down to walnut creek and alamo. Lets go to the bay bridge plaza where we have a 20, 25 minute delay at the toll plaza. The fog is not as dense as it was yesterday and this mornings commute on San Francisco freeways, northbound 101 looks good. This happens when you get the onshore breeze, it targets the areas out to richmond, albany, berkeley, emeryville. That could impact your ride on interstate 80. We also have dense fog advisories out near the coastline, basically from the San Mateo County coast down to the south down towards santa cruz and watsonville. This in place until 9 00 this morning. Visibility is down to about one quarter of a mile. The fog has increased in coverage over the past few hours. As far as current temperatures, still pretty chilly in the 40s out towards santa rosa and napa. Downtown San Francisco, 48 and san jose reporting partly cloudy skies, 52 degrees. Throughout the day today, the fog gradually strips away revealing partly cloudy skies. A few high clouds into the afternoon hours for the coast. This is following a video thats making the rounds on the internet. It shows an animal trainer repeatedly punching a white tiger in the face. The tape has prompted a lot of angry phone calls since it surfaced this week. However, the owners of six flags say that video was taken ten years ago and a trainer was fired shortly after the incident. A government whistleblower says the department of veterans withheld information about gulf war syndrome and ignored suicidal veterans. At this hearing coughlin testified that veterans identified as suicidal in the studies were not offered followup care. Well, president obama heads back to capitol hill today meeting with Senate Republicans and house democrats. Its the president s third trip this week to meet with lawmakers. Hes trying to get republicans and democrats to agree on a budget. Yesterday, Senate Democrats unveiled their budget plan calling for increases in both spending and taxes. The republican budget plan focuses on cutting spending. President obama will release his budget ideas early next month. And now were finding out how various Government Agencies are implementing those automatic sequester spending cuts that took effect march 1st. The interior department, for instance, will cut visiting hours at all 3998 National Parks and 398 National Parks and they are not hiring thousands of seasonal workers. The Agricultural Department is cutting travel spending. That will mean 2100 food safety inspections and the Transportation Department will start furloughing air Traffic Controllers next month. That is expected to cause flight delays. 7 16. You may not know this but your banking information is already available to the fbi. As ktvus Kyla Campbell reports from our washington, d. C. Newsroom, the Obama Administration is now making a push for all spy agencies to have the same access. Reporter theres a report out from reuters and it says there is a Treasury Department document stating the Obama Administration wants to give all u. S. Spy agencies access to a massive financial database. Right now, only the fbi has full access to the database. Other spy agencies like the cia and National Security agency have to file case by case request to get that same information. And reuters says the white house is taking action so the agencies can have unlimited access. Banks have to report any cash transactions over 10,000 as suspicious and they get put into this database. Reuters says banks often overreport to be safe and that puts americans with no criminal instent in the spotlight of the federal government. We also to make sure that were giving it sufficient oversight that congress is paying attention as well as the privacy information. Some coke Truck Drivers are accused of illegally using hand held gps devices during routes in china. Coke says the devices are sold widely in stores and they improve delivery time. But they bring up border concerns. Coke is shutting down a Production Facility in sacramento. The bottling plant has been a fixture on stockton boulevard since 1936. It produces 9 million cases each year. Two months ago, coke bought the entire operation from the family which owned the building. Coke says it has too many facilities across the valley and the plants 60 workers will likely lose their jobs if they cannot find work at other coke facilities. Angry surfers and activists plan to break through a metal barrier thats been blocking to this beach. The gate was installed after the beach was sold. This comes days after the new owners of the beach were sued. In berkeley, a High School Student is recovering after being beaten and robbed yesterday blocks from his school. The victim goes to Berkeley Technology academy. His school and a nearby preschool were all locked down for about 30 minutes while police were searching for the suspect. The boy was taken to the hospital. His injuries described as minor. So far no arrests have been made. 7 19. Were hiring in sunnyvale, denver, were hiring in arizona, which is where were headquartered, and were looking at other locations as well, including international. You can see its backed up out of downtown. 101 is still very heavy. So is 85. Kind of off to a bad start for the Santa Clara Valley commute. Weve been looking at some of the other commutes around the bay. This is the livermore valley. Of course, from tracy to livermore, its been so. We havent had any major problems. Once you get to dublin, it gets much better than that. 45 minutes from grantline to 680. If you are driving to fremont, hayward, traffic is getting busy. Lets go to mark. Wait a minute. Hes not believed to be a reformist, someone who will push for changes on those issues in the church. The former officer archbishop the former archbishop, hes known for taking the bus to work and turning down the palace of the archbishop there in buenos aires. Theres a strict opposition to the modern ways of the church and polls have shown that a lot of catholics believe in contraception. Theres talk of ordaining women in the church.
