Nancy cordes is in washington with new information on the joe biden timeline to decide if he will run. Good morning. Reporter good morning. One of the Vice President s longtime advisors says the president is not phased by causes for him to make up his mind now and he thinks he may be too quick to run out before in 2004. In other words, it could be several weeks before we hear a final decision. As my son beau used to say, just keep moving forward. Reporter at an Award Ceremony on saturday, biden signaled he still has plenty of fight in him invoking this quote from his mother. She used to say, joey, as long as youre alive, you have an obligation to strive and youre not dead until youve seen the face of god. Reporter bidens closest confidants say hes earned the right to take his time. One told cbs news, he doesnt like bullies and will not be bullied into deciding before hes ready. Thats the reference to Clinton Campaign chair john podesta who said last week bidens waited long enough. I think the time has come for a decision. Reporter in part bidens watching to see if clinton encounters more legal or political trouble over her private email server. Quick question, what are you hearing about whether paul ryan would consider running for speaker . Reporter well, the latest is now hes seriously considering answering the call to run for speaker. But people close to him, norah, say the decision is going to depend on what House Republicans do this week. Will they get behind him . Or will these 40 or so hardline conservatives make a lot of demands in exchange for their support. Sources tell me he is not going to negotiate for a job he didnt want in the first place.
