This time Neiman Marcus says theyre notifying customers that an untold number of shoppers may have had their credit card information compromised as far back as middecember. In a statement the company says we have begun to contain the intrusion and have taken significant steps to further enhance security. Target also announces its data breach was worse than previously thought. As many as 7 million customers may have been affected. For more on it. We turn to bloombergs dierdra bolden. Good morning. Good morning. First, Neiman Marcus how are tla going to deal with it . Theyre going to take a page from target. A lot more people are affected than target originally thought. What theyre offering, target, is basically free credit checks. You have equifax. Theres a lot out there. Theyre basically offering that to their customers for a month. More than likely Neiman Marcus is going to do the same thing. From a pr perspective, thats the right thing. Whenever we do business in the store, all you want to know is my data secure. You want to buy your things. You dont want to worry that your inform somethings going to be taken and sold. The large issue is more and more or personal data being out there. Theres a tight line between privacy and security. There was a billiondollar acquisition this week. This is an area that is going to grow. It affects ought of us as far as retail plays, consumer play government plays. And as we hear more and more about these breaches were all more tuned in to exactly whats happening with our money. I want to ask you about our jobs report though. In december we had another jobs report. Its interesting to see whos dropping out of the labor force. It was a whacky set of data. You had 74,000 jobs added to the economy. Thats actually the worst monthly gain in two years and then you had the Unemployment Rate come down to 6. 7 . Normally that would be cause for cheering. Thats the lowest since 2008. The catch here is more and more people are just dropping out, giving up looking for word. So theres a pretty scary stat actually in that december data stat which is 62. 8 is the Labor Force Participation rate. Thats the lowest since the 1970s. We know the jobs that will there, jobs that cant be filled by americans but they remain there. They go unfilled but we know they need to be filled. For example engineering in skills and science but theres a skills gap. Do we think its a onemonth blip . Weather has obviously played a role. People were saying this was going to be a blowout jobs number. Well, it sure wasnt. It definitely is not and you question is right. What happens next . What is the fed going to do with this information . The fed has been looking for 200,000 jobs added. We fell short of that in 2013. We fell short of that in 2012. So it seems that a takeaway is on hold. Were seeing a lot of Big Box Store struggles, sears, kmart, family dollar. Is that lending itself to lessening in the Consumer Confidence market . Thats a reflekz of whats happening. If you dont have a job, youre not spending any extra money. Youre going to stay with what you need which is essentially food clothing shelter. Youre not going to spend more. We were speaking a little bit about this 1. 3 million americans who lost their unemployment benefits. This is on d. C. This is one of their talking points right now. Theyre talking whether to skpeb the benefit bus in the meantime thats 1. 3 who the h1n1 strain which caused an epidemic four years ago. I think people underestimate what flu can do to you. They feel sick they feel rotten and some die. It can be a very devastating disease. Reporter this years flu vaccine can protect against h1n1 and doctors recommend it for everyone. Reporter more than half the country is still at risk during this c o rise. The first of four faceoff games will kick off. We jace listen be follow all the action. Good morning. Thank you. All the men will be on the couch. And women. I shouldnt say that. Lets talk about the first game of the weekend, saints versus seahawks. I know the stadium will be the loudest but whos going to win . I think they have to like saeltd. Its a crazy atmosphere out there. If youre an opposing team you cant even think. Its a bit of a human story. You have two quarterbacks. The average size is about 63, 64. Wilson group idolizing drew brees. Both are showing you dont have to look a certain way to be a star quarterback. Both excite twhag can do. But its not nearly as possible. They play in a dome. They get creature comforts perfect climate. Theyre not going to have that in seattle. You eealluded to this. Seattle is the loudest stadium in the world. Thats going be a big factor . Exactly. You want to have some sense of communication with your teammates and its so loud you cant hear yourself think and your brain is vibrating inside your helmet thats a big deal and is going help them. Tonight on cbs we have the colts facing the patriots. This is an upstart andrew luck versus veteran tom brady. A lot of eyes are on this kbam. Absolutely. Andrew luck was the first pick of the draft not too long ago. What does he do against tom brady . I think when they tau new england, theres a brain trust there. Theyre so smart. They didnt play last week. Theyve had extra time to get ready for the colts. How does that factor in . Does their experience rule the day as oppose to the colts team who says what the heck well go all the way, why not. Lets talk about San Francisco now. Tla wasnt into green bay with what was it windchill of minus 152 and they beat the parkers. Hopefully it will be warmer in carolina for them, but what do you see happening there . I hate to make it all about the quarterbacks but at this time of year it is. Theyre all studs and all here for a reason. You talk about kaepernick and cam newton that. I dont look like them in a drnlt regard in that theyre so big, so stromg, theyre the best athletes regardless of their position. They can run through you, around you, and throw the ball 170 yards if they have to. Maybe the hardest hitting game ive ever seen in the nfl at all this year. Very physical football teams. I want to talk about the late game. Denver is 133 and now san diego is going dl. Everyone is saying its all about peyton manning. It really is. This really is the season of peyton manning. Hes come back from neck surgeries, coming back doing what he does. He led the alltime record. He has one super bowl ring. The least in the family. Baby brother eli has two. His father has three. Probably needs to win more than one super bowl and think he knows that. Theres going to be a lot of pressure on him to go back to another won these rematch games. Philip rivers is pretty good against peyton. Thats going to weigh heavenly on him and the broncos team. Its sort of judgment day for him really. It is. Lets talk big picture. Dwho you see winning at all . I picked seattle in the summer, so im going to stick with that. Now they that have the home field advantage. If they whip today Third Quarter know they get the championship game at home. The next time they win they come to new york. The last time they care kaim here, they beat the giants. That should really help them considering how much they have to travel in the western division. Later on in the show we talk about them being the loudest stadium in the world. Hopefully they have one title. Jason, thank you for joining us this morning. Cbs coverage comes up tonight.
