Is a television driven league that's how it works right the lion's share of the revenue in the new salary cap numbers and everyone's going to make in $40000000.00 a big star that's great but that's based on revenue tied into advertising on the boob tube that's what this is all about the postseason is supposed to be the point where you draw in people that don't like us you're listening to a sports radio show you're better than the average sports fan you're more locked in you're more in gauged they're trying to draw in people that don't normally watch basketball that's that's what they're supposed to be I don't work for the image I'm bothered me that these people aren't flocking to the n.b.a. The ratings have actually been pretty good. But you're a meat and potatoes type of fan if you listen through to a show like this at this time but if the ratings were to plummet there's been no evidence of that but if the ratings were to the sink and then what happens advertisers say well I don't know if I want to spend my money I should spend my ad dollars somewhere else like an overnight radio it's possible i could happen right. Why would I spend money on television advertising when I can get the Ben Mallare show for example to do some spots right. At that point should that scenario doomsday sky is falling scenario happen the n.b.a. Then will have no choice but to do what if the advertising money is not there the t.v. Contracts aren't there yet the rollback salaries so yet again is that a doomsday scenario yes is it going to happen next year no but if 5 percent of people who would normally watch the playoffs realize that hey I can watch Netflix I can listen to a radio show and get entertainment that way I don't have to watch a blowout rat kill in the n b n And you like that other stuff and you don't go back to it well there you go that's that's the that's the situation. Now. Moving on with this the n.b.a. Is very arrogant when it comes to this block approach not just the rant this is the big shots in New York in the bubble in Manhattan they are convinced that you're going to forget about all this that your attention span is you know less than a goldfish and that's what they say and so what's going to happen here is Golden State and Cleveland who are on a collision course are going to have a classic in be a finals and that this tank that has been on the n.b.a. By these terrible games again the exception was the Celtics Cavs game last night but that's the exception that makes the rule and so the assumption is from the n.b.a. That Golden State claim is going to be so good no one will remember all the garb I that led up to it and they could be correct on. Usually remember you watch a game we've talked about this before but you remember the turning point in the game and the final score that's your remember is it going to work that way in the playoffs you're only going to remember the classic if it is an n.b.a.
