Reporter yes, we definitely but we are going to be clear for these next 24 hours like madison just said with another storm system hitting on your weekend, but the storm was impressive. We have seen some impressive snow totals since monday taking a look at those, sugar bowl got 28 inches. Squall valley, 23. Look at that, alpine meadows, 25 inches. And then Mount Rose Ski received 21 inches. This is all from monday through thursday morning. And then mammoth, that is the big winner, 30 inches of snow down there. But we also saw 4. 5 inches of snow in reno itself. And with all of that snow, it definitely impacted the driving conditions around town. The Nevada Department of transportation uses a mixture of salt, sand and salt water to prevent poor winter Road Conditions and it essentially abouts as an antibonding agent and watches Winter Weather very procedures for the procedures and the storms that produce only know events. They use sensors on the roads that give them realtime weather data as well as temperature sensors on the snow plows themselves. The plows track road temperatures as well as current air temperatures. Employees are closing shop in reno and across nevada. Solar city is leaving the silver state following a rate hike decision that increases bills for solar us customers. The company and employees say that decision makes solar energy no longer affordable in nevada that rate hike went into effect january 1. The decision was made back in december, and then the commission argued that the new rate structure is necessary, so customers without solar are not unfairly subsidizing those with solar. Was arrested for second offense driving under the influence, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license and two felony charges of child endangerment. After an investigation, reno police say that dawson was released from the Washoe County jail just last night. Sheer a look at the scene today. Authorities confirm there had were two juveniles in the car. Luckily no one in the store or the vehicle were seriously injured. This robbery happened back in august of 2014, to refresh your memory. The suspect held up the cvs at Shoppers Square and then led police ohen a chase. He was eventually shot and killed by the Police Outside the pepper mill. In the process, the suspect reportedly shot a bystander as he was fleeing the cvs store. I checked back with the reno police today, and they tell me they and the Washoe County Sheriffs Office are still reviewing it. But since we brought this up a couple of months ago, the reno police tell me the chief has received the information about several citizen whose did assist in the case and the department does, in fact, plan our viewer who wrote in. He was shot in the case and originally wrote in asking why no one had been recognized. The officer says there will be a ceremony in the not too distant future but theyre still working out the details. In any case, it has not been forgotten about. But when you have an officer involved shooting, these investigations do not move quickly. We will have a date for the ceremony so those who did step up that day do get the recognition they deserve. Up to 80 Dance Companies from around the u. S. , canada and mexico are gathering together to put on a show for the Biggest Little city. For me, it has been amazing. I have seen the festival grow more and more each yore and the quality of teams they have here, the professional level, it is just absolutely amazing. Most latin Dance Festivals are at an Airport Hotel where things shut down early so when the people from the United States come here, they get a little crazy because the people here in reno know how to do the 24hour party. Reporter the dancers will include a variety of dances. They make it look so easy, but it is actually really hard with all of this footwork yeah this is a great way to kind of test the waters. Still slightly below average, but definitely different than the 30degree temperatures that we have been experiencing over the last couple of weeks. Outside right now, we are already back to the freezing mark for carson city at 32 degrees and down into the 20s around the lake tonight. On live doppler radar, were in Eastern Nevada. That is going to diminish tonight as this low pressure system makes its way out of the region tonight and then we make way for sunshine, some clouds system on saturday. As i put your future cast in motion, youre going to see some cloud cover across northern nevada on quare friday, but really pretty clear tonight and then tomorrow afternoon were going to see more cloud cover making its way in. Late friday night, early saturday morning, and this is 3 00 a. M. Saturday, were going start to see the snow hit the sierra and spil over into far western nevada. With this next system, we could see a few inches in the sierra to one inch on the valley floors. Tonight in reno and sparks, were looking to get down to 21 looking at the possibility of patchy freezing fog after the 10 00 hour. So that could cause problems for late night commuters or Early Morning commuters. And then tomorrow, were looking to top out at 38 degrees with, again, that mix of sunshine and clouds expected on your friday. So a nice little break and then more snow. We are still expecting maybe a few spill over scattered showers across Eastern Nevada tomorrow, in up ther 20s and the lower 30s for those day time highs. As we head west tonight, down to 20 degrees. Cooler at 15 degrees tonight and Single Digits for bridgeport at six degrees. The day time highs warming up into the upper 30s a tnd lower 40s for that err dwra. Winds tomorrow through carson city out of the southwest at five Miles Per Hour. The day time high looking to reach 36 degrees. And a lot of the region down into the teens tonight and the lower 20s. So a little cooler than what we have seen over the last few nights. Day time highs or even above the freezing mark for glenbrook topping out at 36 degrees. The teens and 20s for the overnight lows up north toward susanville where there is more chance for freezing fog overnight tonight into tomorrow. The valley floor tomorrow is looking to reach the 30s across the board. Galena cooler at the freezing mark and then looking to hit the upper 30s for the Virginia Foothills and reno and sparks. Here is a look at your extended forecast. This shows that break in the storm, a storm system on saturday with a 90 chance around the lake level for that snow. 50 chance on the valley floors. And then another break on sunday. And then by early next week, were going to see a slight warming trend in the day time highs into the lower 40s with a weak storm is how were going to describe that system next week, and then were looking at a break on sunday as well so saturday is when were going to see this chance for snow.
