Deputies now investigating a suspicious Death Outside of fairfax. They say a body was discovered last nature on a trail. No details have been released but were headed there and well have an update live from the scene so stay tuned. Also this morning, california will now allow terminally ill patients to legally end their lives. It becomes the nations 5th state to do so, the governor signing the states right to die bill yesterday after an emotional and deeply personal debate. It was passed back in september. This despite the highly publicized case of brittany maynard. Its been a tumultuous year. I have to say that the ups and downs in the legislative process were taxing for me but i also come at this from the standpoint of compared to what i went through last year and then for sure by comparison to what brittany had to endure last year, this was a walk in the park. The bill requirements are that the patient must be capable of taking the medication themselves and that two doctors must approve it. A san ramon man is arrested after he drugged and assaulted women in the area. He arranged at least four meetings with women here in the bay area. First and foremost i want to be clear, the problem in this whole thing was the suspect. It wasnt the victim. It wasnt that they did something remiss or they should be in any way ashamed or feel judged. Reporter police want to know if youve met this man. You may know him as kevin park, jeremy lee. Fre monfremont police say he drugged women. We did a lot of research into him. Reporter they say he used these sites. In September Fremont detectives traveled to champagne illinois to arrest him at the university of illinois. Police say they know of four bay area victims over the summer. They wont go into detail into what evidence they have but they say it points to more victims. Since the women were rendered unconscious, its possible some victims would not remember the encounter. If there is Something Else that he has done to other people, we want to know about it because we want to make sure hes held accountable. Now the National News this morning, in roseburg oregon, we have grieve and gratitude. They seem to come hand in hand where survivors of last weeks shooting know theyre lucky to be alive. Tracy was in the classroom and she describes her experience. He didnt seem like he was like anxious or anything. He just seemed like he wanted to do that, and he seemed happy about it. He didnt seem stressed. Students were allowed to collect their belongings. They also had the option to talk to counselors if they needed it. Classes will resume on october 12th. It as an emotional night for many in fremont. A beloved teacher is murdered. The main suspect is her son. Last night friends and family members celebrated her life and we spoke with those that knew her at the vigil and they held it for her in her honor. She was the kind of person that drew everyone in with positive energy. A wonderful person. She challenged students to go further than people expected them to. Reporter many of those students are now celebrating her life. She would come over and just check on anthony on a personal note just to see how he was doing. Reporter loved ones are doing their best to forget about the circumstances of her death and focus on the good she did while they was alive. She was very proud to be a teacher and doing a great job. Reporter teaching was her passion. She would have them make music, write stories. She was awesome. Reporter but she was a whole lot more than a retired teacher. Her personality drew people to her. Many shared memorable moments they had with her. People were thinking we were Homeless People begging for money and we laughed about it later. Her son now being held without bail. Hell be in court later this afternoon. In the east bay, police are hoping that this surveillance image helps catch a man who shot an artist who was working on a neighborhood mural. There was a verbal argument and then he ran off. Police are calling him a person of interest in this case. Police are saying hes about 6 feet tall has a thin build. Take a a look at the photograph. Back to you, james. Lets head to the north bay where a federal civil rights lawsuit has been filed against Sonoma County after two former inmates say they got a 5hour beating from deputies. They claim the deputies attacked them, along with at least 18 other inmates. We have more details on the lawsuit. Reporter there are major accusations surrounding the alleged happenings inside these walls. Two former inmates have come forward and filed a federal civil rights lawsuit alleging violence and misconduct against inmates on may 28th of this year. According to this complaint, an inmate didnt wake up when soap was being given out. That was when things took a turn. The complaints continued saying at one point deputies dressed in all black, wearing ski masks, dragged him to the shower, order him to strip naked and told the inmate he was their expletive. He pleaded that he was unable to breathe and begged deputies to stop. The response, according to the complaint, let me hear you say it, say, say this is our house. We can do this all day. In another stance that day, the come instance that day, the complaint says banks was denied medical attention for his injuries for more than 24 hours. He suffers from serious anxiety and Mental Health difficulties following the incident. Also this morning, the state of nevada is paying up. The state in hot water now after allegedly putting mentally ill patients on one way bus trips to San Francisco. It was back in 2013 San Francisco sued nevada after reports of patients being discharged from a Psychiatric Hospital in las vegas and were then bused to california. They were directed to look for care in San Francisco. Nevada has agreed to pay 400,000 to settle the lawsuit. The san jose stadium deal is dead for now. Some fans holding out hope that Major League Baseball and the as will turn their attention back to the south bay. As expected by most legal experts, the u. S. Supreme court has refused to san joses contention that Major League Baseball stalled the bid to bring the as to town. The mayor says its time to move on. Well, new this morning, the fate of an apartment complex thats dangerously close to falling in the Pacific Ocean. Kron 4s Charles Clifford takes a look at whats happening with those apartment complexes. Reporter during the winter of 2009 2010, heavy storms tore away at the cliffs here in pacifica. When it became clear that several buildings were in danger of falling, the apartments were red tagged and evacuated. They have remained that way since. Efforts were made to prevent erosion but theyve remain unchanged. Theres new concerning that the apartments could once again be in danger of falling.
