A judge sentenced him to 6 months in jail after he was convicted of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman. The victims letter read at sentencing has gone viral but now we know the prosecutor in the case for you to for a tougher sentence calling the victims statement powerful and urging the judge to sentence turner based on his actions alone. The judge is facing a recall campaign. At sentencing he noted prison would have a severe impact on turner and also considered turners alcohol use that night a mitigating factor that should result in more leniency saying its not an excuse but it is a factor that his judgment was impaired by alcohol. The prosecutor criticized the 6month sentence at trial saying it is easy to want to turn a blind eye to the suffering victims go through. Happening now police are looking for an aggressive robber, he commit 3 robberies on sunday and police are warning that hes and dangerous. According to the Police Department between 9 20 and 9 45 sunday evening this man armed with a gun committed 3 robberies across the city and at least in 2 locations shots were fired. The suspect allegedly attacked a woman using an atm outside this bank. And robbed a nearby walgreens which is where these photos were taken. The third location was several blocks away at a convenient store. Monday afternoon we spoke with the owner of the store. He declineding to on camera but did say that the experience had been upsetting. He said that month one was injured but the suspect did take a significant amount of money. The suspect also apparently fired at least one shot into the air as he was leaving. We did hear the fire shot. This woman shops here all the time. I was surprised because this is really low key, and very busy but most people they respect around here, and so we dont normally have any problems. Responding officers spotted the suspect driving a stolen vehicle and pursued for a short time but say that for safety reasons the chase was called off when he started driving erratically. Hes described as being in his 20s, between 57 and 510. At the time of the robberies he was wearing a blah hat and dark shoes. Anyone with official is asked to contact the police. Around the bay forecast calls for continuing cooling as we head towards wednesday, thursday well introduce that chance of rain for the north bay. The group is discussing a package of Gun Safety Bills they are planning to push forward in the State Capitol this week. Some of the legislation was inspired by the shootings last year.
