Reid, who serves as chair of the Coliseum Authority now has attorneys reviewing whether the silver and black can be told to hit the road immediately if its legal, the city and county can expect to save more than a Million Dollars a season. Right now revenue generated for each 10 game season is about 7 Million Dollars and comes from rent, parking, concessions, and drinks. Expenses, those who work at the game, as well as security and Law Enforcement totals about 8 Million Dollars for the season. That shortfall goes away if the raiders do. When crews arrived at the beach they rescued a 22yearold man who said he was trying to help another man who was stuck below the cliff. Crews were able to see the second man who they say appeared to be unconscious and not breathing. But strong surf and undertow conditions prevented rescue boats and swimmers from reaching the man. The buildings owners wanted to convert the units into condos. And tried unsuccessfully to work out a deal with her. Over recent years there were protests and rallies in her name. As the legal battle continued. This was one of them. Finally last month the 100yearold was evicted. The Property Owners said in court that she could have stayed if shed signed paperwork to allow the building to convert to condos. She repeatedly refused allegedly motivated by Family Members who hoped to force a sale of the unit at a discounted price. But those relatives argued that they did not believe shed be secure from eviction if she signed. Iris had been hospitalized since her eviction and suffered a stroke last week. Tonight a member of the Housing Rights Committee of San Francisco told me that the fight isnt over. And the owners still need permission to convert the building.
