The delays, longer than 20 minutes, were announced at about 2 p. M. According to bart power issues are affecting trains heading toward both sfo and pittsburg. grant landing vo to the east bay now where bart is still working out some of the bugs in the new warmsprings south fremont station. So far it hasnt caused much of a problem because of the light passenger load but the escalators have been giving bart some trouble at the the shiny new facility. Kron fours rob fladeboe joins us now live with more on the story. Rob . rob live earlier this week bart said that one escalator here at warm springs was down and anotherwas under evaluation. Today, one of six escalators is out of service. Most of the riders i spoke with said its no big deal and are more concerned about the lack of trains than they are about the escalators. A strip of yellow caution tape blocks the middle escalator here at the entrance to the warm springs south fremont bart station, which opened just three weeks ago. While it is out of service and under repair, five of the six escalators here, including all three on the track side of the station, are working. While a few riders grumbled that three weeks is enough time to have worked out out the bugs, others said the gleaming new station is an improvement over the other aging stations. Bart ridersno one i spoke with said they missed a train because of the escalator problem. But several riders said the lack of trains here is the real problem. Warm spring so far does not provide full service on weekdays. You can get anywhere on the daly city line from warm springs but if youre on the richmond line, you have to get off at the very next stop, in fremont, and transfer to another train. Bart riders while escalator problems are not uncommon at other stations, bart says that no particular pattern has emerged. Two out of three escalators on the parking lot side of the station were more than enough to handle todays traffic. Riders can always take the stairs, or their are elevators, all of which seem to be working just fine. rob live one thing you wont hear anyone complaining about here at the warm springs bart station is parking. There are more than 2,000 spaces here and the lots look to be only about half full. That, of course, will change if and when more trains are added down the line. Tonight kron4 has uncovered a similar incident, another woman violently assaulted and robbed while riding on muni. This time in the citys bayview district. And as kron4s Haaziq Madyun reports. It happened the day before. It is a story you will only see here on kron4 sotmother of daughter attacked on muni ttrain they proceeded to kick her and hit her, attacking her, they grabbed her hairthis mother is describing a violent incident that happened to her 18yearold daughter tuesday at around 7pm while she was riding on the muni ttrain near fitzgerald street in San Franciscos bay view district. She says her daughter was on her way home from work when about 8teeanage boys and girls got on the train. She asked not to reveal her identitymother of daughter attacked on muni ttrain and these kids bumped into her foot that was up on the seat and she just ignored it and then they began throwing plastic soda bottles and chip bags. She turned around and said stop throwing stuff at me and it just escalated from there, someone came and hit hereshe says group of teens pulled her daughter off of the train and continued the assault. One of the teens took her daughters cellphone. In santa rosa, Philippe Djegal, kron four news. grant Vacaville Police are searching for two people after a triple shooting late last night that left a teenager in critical condition. It happened just before midnight outside an apartment complex on aegean way. A teenage girl, a woman, and a man were all shot. All three were in critical condition. But are expected to be okay. Suspect info is extremely limited. One shooter is described as a black man in his 20s. Wearing all black. And police havent released anything about the other shooter. vicki were hearing more about the School Shooting in san bernardino. This timefrom a teachers assistant who was in the classroom where it happened. grant Catherine Heenan is here with her story. And what she says would and would not have helped the situation. catherine a teachers assistant named Jennifer Downing was standing nearby whenher coworkers estranged husband walked into the classroom. And began shooting. She saw her coworker karen smith died. And remembers her as a very sweet womanwho loved the children. Smiths husband also killed a student and wounded a 9yearold boy. A child downing has worked with for the last couple of years. She talked about how shes headed back to the job now. And the fact that some people are callingfor teachers to be armed. But in this case she says that would not have done any good. Teacher there was no reaction time because it was right away. There wasnt oh maybe i should grab something. Had something been locked up it would not have mattered. Now that this event happened youre jumpy and looking over your shoulder. Shops and restaurants have since re opened. No injuries were reported, but the roof was damaged. This was the second problem in just a couple of days. At a small california carnival four people were stranded at the red springs carnival. They dangled for about an hour 100 feet in the air. The owner says its not the first time the skyflier ride has malfunctioned. Engineers are scrambling to figure out exactly what went wrong. This particular carnival is a fundraiser for the local shop with a cop program. When officers take children out to buy them christmas presents. So everyone is hoping the problem is fixed soon.
