Robberies. Jewelry counters at costco have been a hot target for thieves lately. Sunday morning three men walked into the store in novato wearing surgical masks, and headed straight for the cases. Normally all the cases have like jewelry in there; i like looking at the watches. And i did notice that where the rings are, like the Diamond Rings and stuff, it was kind of empty, so. Empty because the suspects pulled out hammers, smashed the glass, and stole several items of jewelry. They ran out to a waiting getaway car, and escaped. The case, though empty, does have new glass. I thought they were moving the stuff around. Like i thought they were doing inventory or Something Like that. If this story sounds familiar, you may be remembering the smash and grab from the costco in foster city last month i heard about the one at costco in danville; i read about that, and i think periodically ive read about others. Kron four also told you about those atwo danville incident in may, where again, thieves went straight to the glass jewelry case with hammers. The second time, one of the suspects fired a gun into the air. A private Security Guard was watching the entrance later that day. Unlike the may robbery in danville, police say there was no gun used in this one, and nobody got hurt. But nobody got caught, either. It surprises me that it happened in danville and here as well. Police say the three suspects are black men in their 20s, and the getaway car was a dark, fourdoor sedan with paper dealer plates another similarity to the second danville case. After his laptop was stolen while he was sitting at a starbucks in alameda. The man says. His entire livelihood was on that computer. This is the second time in less than two weeks that patrons at this atlantic avenue starbucks have had their laptops ripped out of their hands. In both incidents. About two to four teenagers barge in and run out with peoples belongings. Gene hamm says hes never been more scared in his life than he was last night. Gene hamm robbery victim i thought this was it. If he had a weapon i wouldnt be talking to you. Just before 9 oclock, a group of teenagers stormed into this starbucks. One of them got very close to hamm and took off down this alley with his macbook pro. Gene hamm robbery victim made a beeline for me. And another one went past me. So this guy comes right in my face. Hes about that close, and just grabs the computer just off knock the drinks off and hes out the door. These guys seem pretty professional they knew what they were doing. They knew where to go. , get in, get out. And probably down through the tunnel or on the freeway or some palce. Hamm, who is a professional animator says his lifes work was on that computer. Hamm is not the only one robbed at this starbucks. A similar incident took place on july 18th. Multiple young men ran into the store and stole the laptops of two other victims. We spoke to people who come to the cafe to work. They say its generally safe. Sherif ismail cafe patron i live nearby. This starbucks is good for studying. I come here and try to be productive. I always try to be cautious. Of course ill be using my laptop but ill try to be more careful after hearing this. Hermela Aregawi were told the suspects were all young male. Starbucks says its working with police to help catch the suspects. There should be Surveillance Footage of these incidents. Thats Something Police are looking into as well. Where a customer tries to stop an Armed Robbery at a starbucks in fresno. The robber walked into the starbucks with a knife and a fake gun and demanded money. A customer saw what was going on and picked up a metal chair and hit the man in the back. The two began fighting and the robber stabbed the man in the neck. The man then got the knife away from the robber and stabbed him several times before he fled. Police later found the robber and arrested him. Both men are doing okay. justine and now a story youll only see here on kron4 news. A 33foot sailing vessel sunk in the middle of the San Francisco bay. A viewer sent us this video and said he almost crashed into it. The coast guard says the boat sank yesterday and it is about a mile northeast of treasure island. Not clear why the boat sunk. But we know no one was hurt. The owner of the boat is working with the coast guard. And is getting a private Salvage Company to remove the vessel sometime this week. This isnt the first sign of violence near san pablo park. Neighbors are still shaken by the latest shooting but are hesitant to talk making it hard for police to investigate. Gun shots rang through an otherwise calm Berkeley Community monday afternoon around 4 30 as kids played at san pablo park. Witnesses reluctant to go on camera say a fight broke possibily at a memorial then a group of young kids made their way down park street toward burnette. This vans window was smashed along the way. Sot neighbor about six or seven shots. Berkeley Police Responded i mean within minutes. Police say no one was hurt but two homes on burnette were struck by bullets narrowly missing one person inside. A neighbor whos lived here for more than forty years says crime has gone up with several shootings by the park in the last two years and wants the city to step up security. Police are now asking for home owners in the neighborhood to submit surveillence video to help in their search for those responsible. The victim was approached by the suspect who tried to take the his cell phone. The suspect then pulled out a knife and tried to stab the victim but missed. Authorities say the suspect then punched the victim in the face twice then took off. Police say the victim suffered deep cuts to his face. The suspect is describe as a thin, black man in his 30s or 40s standing fivefoot seven inches tall with short black hair. He was wearing a longsleeve black shirt and black pants and carrying a pair of blue and red shoes. jr stone tonight police in the east bay need your help in catching thieves who stole a kids amusement train last night or early this morning. This is a picture of that of that train. The plan was to use it today outside the bayview opera house to give kids rides. This morning though the owners found the trailer it was inside. Gone. The company that owns the train is called the fun and game experts. They say the trailer and the train was in Pleasant Hill when it was taken. The family that own the train and the trailer are hopeful that the thieves find it in the heart to give back the train. Its possible they didnt know the train was inside the trailer. Authorities say the bodies of 28yearold Deputy Rebecca joan raymond and an unidentified man were found this morningafter searchers located a downed plane in a remote part of big bear mountain. But dunn says her sister, the boys mother, took him to Lake Wildwood beach last week where they went swimming near the clubhouse. A place the Nevada CountyPublic Health department now believes exposed him and four others to e. Coli. Sara dunn, nephew contracted e coli was taken to Sierra Nevada tuesday, admitted to icu shortly afterwards. And was admitted to uc davis yesterday because he tested positive for e. Coli and its now affecting his kidneys. The Health Department says 5 children because very ill. And of those 3 have now tested positive for e. Coli. Dunn says her nephew knows at least one of the other sick boys. And she believes some adults are also being treated. Sara dunn, nephew contracted e coli they are friends, know each other. So they very well might have been there the same day. But yeah the mothers also pregnant who is also affected, and her son. The Health Department closed down the beach they were at. After water tested there had high levels of fecal coliforms, bacteria which can cause serious illness. There are Wastewater Treatment plants near the lake, but the county public works Department Says it found no leaks, and the system appears to be working normally. Lake wildwood is a gated community. When we tried to speak with the administrative offices, a guard at the gate told us to check back tomorrow. Dunn feels like both could have done more to prevent this. Highs tomorrow will be in the 90s to low 100s inland, 70s to upper 80s around the bay, and 60s at the coast with patchy fog. By wednesday night and thursday some subtropical moisture moves into the bay area to bring us partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures. Well have to watchout for a few isolated thunderstorms too. It happened on a Spirit Airlines plane bound for oakland. Airport Officials Say the passenger removed all their clothes while boarding the plane and approached a flight attendant. Police say the passenger was taken for observation for what they are calling a medical episode.
