An update to a story we first brought you last night. Sheriffs Officials Say a man who died in custody in the Santa Clara County main jail in san jose yesterday. Had been forcibly removed from his cell last week. Last monday. Deputies say they tried to move the 33yearold to an observation cell after he became uncooperative and was banging on the door with his fist. When he refused to move, the staff used pepper spray, clear out spray, and fired two plastic projectiles at the man. They say the chemicals were then showered off the man and he was taken to the hospital. Deputies found him unresponsive in his cell yesterday. He was later pronounced dead after attempts to revive him. At the Santa Cruz County jail a 23yearold woman was pronounced dead this morning. A correctional officer found Krista Deluca in medical distress. Medical workers tried to stabilize her. But she was pronounced dead around seven thirty am. Deluca had been arrested thursday night. On suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and for having outstanding warrants. Tragedy in the east bay. An artist was working on a mural today in west oakland when he was shot and killed. Kelly gissendaner was pronounced dead about an hour and a half ago. Her lawyers had spent the night trying to get appeals courts to prevent her execution. A crowd of people gathered outside the prison. Praying that she be allowed to live. Gissendaner was convicted of murder in 1997. Prosecutors say she plotted with her boyfriend to kill her husband. Shes the first woman to be executed in the state in 70 years. A Tennessee High School student was sent home from school. After he said he wants to bring a boy to his homecoming dance.
