When Police Received a call of an on authorized person on campus. Thats when the school went into lockdown. The lockdown was lifted in just the last hour when police concluded there was no merit to the phone call kron fours camila barco is joining us live now. Theyre from campus. Camila. I know youve been speaking with parents this morning. There are many of them still gathered there right behind you. What are they saying . Yeah, well, now, as you can see behind me, there are dozens of parents lined up right now because theyre waiting to see and reunite with their child. They heard this news. They from their phones and many of them came here to campus to get their child. As you can see me, this is will step out the ways you guys can get a better look a scene here at South San Francisco. Can i mean excuse me . Parents are just waiting outside to pick up and see their kids. One parent tells me that they rushed here as soon as they heard that there might have been an active shooter. But as you mentioned, this has been deemed as a hoax. Take a look at your screen. This is some video captured just within the last few minutes outside South San FranciscoHigh School Police tell me that they got a call at 9. 47. This morning about a man on campus on the second floor and that there was an active shooter trying to get into some rules that went south. San Francisco Police responded and the school was put on lockdown. Officers went into every room to make sure that the school was safe and that there was no active shooter after every room was checked, the school was cleared and the lifted the lockdown. Police tell me there there was no suspect found and there was no evidence of a shooter. And now parents are reuniting with their kids. A lot of them are outside. Like i said, waiting to see their child. I did speak to one parent. She rushed here immediately shoves 2 blocks away. She didnt want to be on camera, but this is what she had to say. A little high on the lorraine are like a little a little of i wish like me something right away. Instead of paying. It takes like 10 minutes later. But i am just, you know, thankful that theres no bloodshed and nobodys hurt. Nobody is going home safe. And i hope like nothing happens in the future gun. Now, Francisco Unified School District tells us that school is still going on and noel parents can pick up their students and that will count as an excused absence. Excuse me. As far as this investigation goes, will police tell me that they will investigate and look into who made this call again . It happened at 9. 47. This morning. This has been deemed as a hoax. There has been no active shooter found. No suspect has been found and no evidence of an active shooter. And right now, police tell me that they will stay here for the remainder of the day. All around the same time this morning, George Washington high school in San Franciscos Richmond District was one of them. Officials confirming in the last hour there was no credible fat. Threat there and no lockdown was required. We also received reports of threats made at Woodside High School in San Mateo County around 10 00am. Police saying the campus is in secure mode . All students and staff there are safe then just before 11 00am we received reports of multiple students shot at Lincoln High School in san jose. Police officers responded immediately to that school. They cleared that campus and have also determined those calls were a hoax and potentially linked to those phony calls at the San Francisco schools. Again, at this point, all claims of shootings in bay area schools have been deemed false. Police are reminding everyone false reports to Law Enforcement are illegal and each office is investigating where those threats may have come from. This is, of course, developing this afternoon. A homeowner was shot when he tried to confront a group of catalytic converter thieves. Kron 4 Charles Clifford joining us live from Castro Valley for the latest details here. Charles, i know a similar incident happened earlier this month in oakland where a man died during a similar incident of a catalytic converter theft. What do we know about the victim in this one . Well, we know the victim. The is at the hospital. He is expected to be ok, but certainly Law Enforcement say, you know, if you see someone stealing catalytic converter, dont confront them. Call 911, call the cops right away in this case they so far have not made any arrests. According to the Alameda CountySheriffs Office, deputies responded here to the 4500 block of sergeant avenue in Castro Valley just before 04 00am wednesday and reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they found a male victim who had been shot twice in the leg. The Sheriffs Office says that the victim was attacked after he confronted for people who are tempting to steal a catalytic converter from a car parked along the street after the shooting. The suspects fled the area in a silver fourdoor sedan. The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. Shortly after the shooting, the suspects vehicle was spotted traveling along 5. 80. A sheriffs deputy followed the car on to eastbound. 24 the california Highway Patrol and the sheriffs deputy then tried to pull over the car, but it wouldnt stop later in the morning. The sedan was involved in an accident in walnut creek. The 4 suspects were seen fleeing on foot and have not yet been found. The Sheriffs Office says that upon searching the vehicle they located multiple catalytic converters in the trunk. Charles, thank you for that live report to the north bay now where marin countys District Attorney is investigating an uptick in hate crimes throughout the county. A new special investigator has been appointed to try and figure out why this is happening. Kron 4 Sarah Stinson has the details. Throughout the last couple of months, theres been anti semitic. Flyers circulating around warren county. And that is why the District Attorney has hired a specific investigator too, look into these hate crimes in trying find out whos responsible. But were going to be tracking that information with williams help. And we reduce our investigator and really seeing if we can put a case together. And if not, let our Community Know that we are tracking whats happening. Were going to stand up against it the best way that we can with the tools that we have. Hate crimes have been going on for years. Take a look at this video from 2020 showing swastika circulating throughout the county. Were pretty socked in today, although the fog was not quite as bad as it was yesterday, you can see the only spot where you kind of a little fog. Still sticking is the north bay santa rosa still with very little visibility out there. So just be careful if youre going out about on the roads. Current temperature right now. 61 degrees in San Francisco or 59 in santa rosa about 66 in livermore, though, 74 in antioch, that east bay is still going to get kind of the heat of the day more than everyone else today be sitting, get quite as much fog. A Restoration Company and multiple cleanup crews are on site at this building 100 van ness on tuesday. Multiple residents say that someone had some sort of episode and cause damage to the walls and pipes on the 11th floor. They say that caused major flooding throughout the building.
