Husband and wife kip and nicole macy were both sentenced to more than 4 years in jail for threats and attacks against their tenants. Police say, it was all in an effort to evict residents and sell the building. They say, the couple cut holes in tenants floors, cut into support beams, changed locks and even doused items with amnonia. To try and drive out their tenants. Her name is christine svan uhmeyer. She was a zen monk and mother. Who lived in San Francisco. City employee arrested in police have released the name of the murder suspect connected to the death of a popular san jose schoolyard supervisor. Oscar ayala is facing murder charges for the death ofshe went missing on saturday. Her body was found tuesday in her car on East San Antonio street, near her home, and less than a mile from ayalas home. Pam police are not releasing information on the motive, but say the victim and the suspect knew each other. Ayala faces up to 25 years in jail. Oakland police were invovled in a standoff for hours at a liquor store on macarthur boulevard in east oakland. Officers say, six people are in custody. Including two women who were used as lookouts. The heat speeds up a mosquitos life cycle. Meaning it can reproduce faster in the heat. It could reach the mid ninties here over the weekend. So, mosquito and Vector Control says you need to take precautions. Dump or drain standing water. Because mosquitos cant breed or begin life without water. Avoid being outside at dawn and dusk thats when mosquitos are typically around. And, while you and your kids are outdoors. Make sure you protect your skin with repellents containing deet, picaridin. Or, the oil of lemon eucalyptus. This week alone. The mosquito and Vector Control district says six dead birds and a chicken tested postive for west nile. Two of the birds were found in brentwood. The others in bethel island, danville, lafeyette and pittsburgh. This means the virus is around. The district has been laying traps and has killed off some of the mosquito population. But they continue to multiply. So far this year. 58 birds and five chickens have tested postive for west nile. This year there have been two reported human cases of west nile in contra costa county. But district Officials Say those residents were infected outside of the county they just live here. Since 2005. 44 people have contracted the virus countywide. And, in 2006, two people died from it. So, be careful. In contra costa county, Philippe Djegal, kron four news. Did giv pam the yosemite wildfire has now scorched nearly a quarter million acres. It remains at 80percent containment. Where it has been the last few days. New tonight roads around yosemite are re opening. Kron 4s Charles Clifford has a closer look. Reporter on august 17th, highway 120 between the town of groveland and Yosemite National park was shutdown, cutting off one of the four main routes into and out of Yosemite National parking. Eventually the fire jumped over 120 and burned on both sides of the highway for weeks. On friday afternoon, cal trans announced that 120 has finally reopened but drivers will still have to use caution. There continues to be active wildfire in the area and Fire Fighters are still using 120 to fight the flames. Drivers will also not be allowed to stop along 120 and most of the connecting side roads and trail heads remain closed to the public. The reopening is good news for business in the towns of groveland and big oak flats, who had seen their customers disappear when they were cut off from yosemite. Inside the park, highway 120, which is also called tioga road, remains closed between crane flats and white wolf. Drivers entering the park using highway 120 on the western side will be able to reach the yosemite valley. In the newsroom, Charles Clifford kron 4 news.
