Attempting to extinguish the fire on the secondfloor but it was too well involved with heavy timber burning very hot so we changed to defense tragic strategy and we tried to extinguish it from that and exterior there is known inside when we left we had just finished a 1 00 mass and after a walk to church it was after five minutes we could see the smoke around the church one firefighter was injured thumb in putting out this fire but we do not know the exact cause police are on the hunt for a driver that hit a pedestrian and left him with life threatening injuries. The accident happened at the intersection of walnut avenue and hutchinson road in walnut creek saturday evening. Witnesses tell kron 4s alecia the victim ran into the street just before getting run over. Investigators comb the scene of the hit and run accident on walnut avenue searching for additional clues a day after a man was hit crossing the street. I saw him fly into the air. The 48 year old victim is in Critical Condition with severe skull and facial fractrures. Neighbors say he was anxious to get across the street, and ran right into traffic. Its not clear how fast the driver was going, but witnesses say the victim was running down hutchinson road in a rush to cross walnut avenue narrowly dodging an eastbound car, but as he continued crossing, was struck by a car heading westbound. Matt light was in the turning lane he went right in front of me and at the same time another car was coming to the right of me and thats the car that hit him they didnt really have a chance. He wasnt in the crosswalk. Theres no way as dark as it was to see that person was coming at them. The suspect vehicle is a dark colored sedan with possible front end damage. If youre out there, turn yourself in. I dont think it was your fault. With a lot of foot traffic in the area, parents say this intersection needs more than a crosswalk. We had a crossing guard that got hit and broke her leg last year. Lot of near accidents all the time. Its very dangerous. Today the dea is randomly drug testing football teams. Based on claims players are abusing Prescription Drugs. The 49ers were checked after they played the new york giants. The woman found badly injured along state highway 29 in napa county early this morning died on her way to the hospital. During the investigation, the road was closed for most of the day but reopened a few hours ago. Tonight, kron fours Philippe Djegal reports investigators are calling this case a possible homicide. Crime scene investigators pass through potential evidence, marked up and scattered along state highway 29 near old lawley toll road. Some of the victims clothes left in the ditch where she was found a woman in her mid to late 50s. The Napa County Sheriffs Office says deputies responded to reports of a woman laying in the roadway at around 445 in the morning. And, thats when she was discovered suffering from major injuries. Investigators say the woman passed away on the airlift to santa rosa memorial hospital. At that time, the road was closed while the Sheriffs Office and other Emergency Responders walked the scene with k9 units, trying to piece together what led to the womans death. What happened to her or why she was in the area in the first place is still unclear. Thats why homicide detectives are involved. Is she the victim of a hit and run . Was she murdered . Right now, investigators are saying they havent found any vehicles that may be connected to this case. The Sheriffs Office says this is a rural area rarely frequented by pedestrians. As officers responded police say the driver tried to get out of the car and leave the scene he was runningsort of staggeringsaid they would tase him Police Identified the driver as juan lopez of South San Francisco Authorities Say the 20yearold was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crashand placed under arrest on suspicion of dui. I absolutely loved Ted Gullicksen, and Ted Gullicksen loved San Francisco. And sunday. The city showed its loved for the late Ted Gullicksen with a Memorial Service that filled Mission High Schools auditorium. Gullickson started working for the San Francisco Tenants Union in 1988 and continued until his death in mid october. Friends and family honored gullicksens devotion to tenants rights with memorial posters. But even more than his work. Mourners remembered gullicksen himself. Ted was a friend and also someone who fought tirelessly for the rights of people of the city to live in their homes, and to live peacefully. Also, hes one of the few people who was extremely selfless and dedicated. Seeing all of the love from gullicksens friends and supporters brought tears to gullicksens sister. Its just overwhelming. Overwhelming. Im just so proud of the work hes done. To see all the signs and meet at the people. Its been very special during his time with the San Francisco Tenants Union. Gullicksen helped to pass dozens of laws to protect renters. Despite his untimely passing, friends and family are confident gullicksens legacy will continue. Ted organized at the Tenants Union collectively and taught us all extremely well. We approach these things collectively, and the struggle for justice goes on. A norovirus outbreak has infected one hundred and seventy two people aboard a princess cruise ship, according to the centers for disease control.
