The mattand have made arrangements to leave the area. And at this point we do not have any save the serious for them to go to. Safety areas for them to go to. The lanes are subsiding but we keep in mind that the range and water, but takes a couple of hours for the water to come down and go to the creek. Pam kron4s chief meteorologist, Brittney Shipp joins us now. Brittney the concern will be for a lot of cities by the creek and ross valley is the main concern were homes and businesses are now being threatened. For the entire area we have a Flash Flood Warning and watch for the entire area up to age 30 tonight. There are three different Flash Flood Warnings. Brittney which will stay in effect until midnight tonight that is one that is affecting the alameda creek. If you live anywhere near this location. Please be careful. Brittney this is just outside of the Scotts Valley at the San Lorenzo River. The current is almost as 16 ft. So it is expected to rise and that is something that we will keep a close eye on. Brittney running right through the downtown region, so evacuation has been issued. So you want to be careful and hit to the second story or Higher Ground if you cant. Again, the police is expressing that people who leave the downtown area and this location. Brittney outside of san mateo at our San Francisco peninsula location and it looks like the heaviest rain showers and the east bays own corporatein the east bays own. Zone brittney write off around 6 00 we should see a little break. However, we will see another round beckham will give heavy rain and the north bay zone. Brittney it is no wonder that we are dealing with all of these flash flood yvette. Events steve thank you, brittney pam grant . Grant i do want to get to some breaking news as the Embarcadero Bart station is shut down right now it does not appear to be storm related. However, there is Police Activity at the bart station in San Francisco. As for the bart train that ran over the tree branch that was near the bellboy park station. It was packed with people. Balbough brittney right now grant right now, in both directions it was chaotic at the 24 street station as the escalator broke. And people are literally climbing off the side of the escalator to the street level. Grant because of the issue with the branch on the track and the Embarcadero Bart station with the Police Activity. So one of them are storm related issues the other does not appear to be but is happening there the evening commute. Trees are coming down all throughout the bay area. Grant this was the scene at the sunnyvale housing complex with a huge tree and two car damage. The root system hit a gas line forcing the evacuation. While pg and he prepared it. The tree barely grazed the building and no one was injured. Grant over the weekend, another tree came down and fell into apartments. We reported about displacing seven people and no one was injured. Grant two separate incidents brought down trees. One of lafayette and the other elements that and diablo. This is a situation that could have been terrifying. There was to people and to homes and two separate areas of the east bay. An 88 yearold father and his son. Were inside the home. And fortunately no injuries but definitely scary situations as the ground is saturated and trees are coming down all over the bay area. Again, that is in the east bay and we saw what happened in San Francisco and the bart issue is one that persist tonight. Pam alright, grant thank you. Steve a man is in the hospital. And a shooter is out there after gunfire erupts in downtown oakland. Pam in had a barack reported this afternoon. What this tells kron4 is sound like automatic gunfire although the police had not yet said what kind of gun was used. Police shut down broadway near 13th street by their investigation. Right now police are looking for Surveillance Video in the area. Pam it is a time for everyone to be careful. As the weather is turning dangerous in many areas. Steve britt . Brittney you want to be really careful as you head into the next couple of hours as much of this very closely. Flood stage is is at 18 speed. And now we are 19. 8 so we are able but at the half above flood stage of that being rubbed belly with homes and businesses impacted. Brittney we are taking a break from the rain showers prepared but over 6 in. Of rain does not come with what we have seen over the weekend and certain areas which seems to be too much for the local greek spirit local creeks brittney we will show you that there are two more Flash Flood Warnings that have been issued one and the santa cruz mountains, the second in the east bay zone that will stay in effect until midnight tonight. So if you live to the east of union city or by some zero or 680. Anywhere near the alameda creek, flood stages are a foot and half above the normal stage. Brittney sell rental river, in effect until 1015 tonight. The flood stage a 16. 5 ft. , we are not quite there yet but expected to rise as we head into the next few hours. The north bay is showing a break from the rain which is a good thing. Brittney the conceit a batch of rain corporateyou cant see a batch of rainshowers. And at the San Lorenzo River in of that until 1015 tonight a flood watch. Brittney near 11 00 at san santa rosa. The see another round of heavy downpours are around midnight. Brittney dan, a chance of scattered showers as we head into tomorrow. Then a chncaance chance Brittney Lawrence . Brittney some of the major rivers that we are concerned about are expecting to creep above flood stage brittney reporter an unusual high tide. That will cause more flooding. Reporter the tides are so high. So that is also compounding some of the problems we are seen on the river. Reporter currently sitting at 24. 2 ft. Above flood stage in st helena. Reporter j. R. Stone has been there along the Russian River. We are expecting it to reach 38. 2 ft. Which is about 6 ft. Along a flood stage and will make a long way for the water to make its way down. It may happen until allow 6 00 tomorrow. The good news is that you have pretty dast theres plenty of time to pack and get out. You have been warned. Reporter this is sort of the business area for the city and has been evacuated from or by the Police Department and sheriffs department. They have been Walking Around telling people to move to Higher Ground and that is because of this. Take a look to the right. It has risen dramatically. This is the choke point for all of the water coming down the valley to the west of where we are standing by fairfax. It passes down on the need the downtown area. It passes downward toward the downtown area. Reporter if we receive more rain showers this evening this could be a problem once, again derrick reporter they have x everyone to leave this area with police Walking Around and volunteers asking people to stay out of the area. We will show you right over here where there is water coming out of the creek app blowing out into downtown san anselmo. Reporter this could damage the building on around here. And could be a real problem which is just a taste of what could happen if the creek was to breach its banks and keep coming up. The people that live down here have been next to leave with it this is mostly businesses. But, its pretty much a ghost town down here. We will stay here for a little while to see what happened. That is the very latest. Steve a couple of quick things. Steve beckham 2005 you had a quarter mile wide of water that was plotting. Was flooding reporter here where we are standing. Its about santa5 to 10 ft. Across creeks. It is a choke point for all the moisture. When a flood like back in 2005, pretty much all of downtown was a river and it took a long time to recover from that there were a lot of changes made over the creek and the banks were reinforced after that to keep it from happening again. And they monitor its costly to make sure there arent any issues. To make sure there arent any issues its monitored closely. Reporter caution tape has been placed. They are walking back and forth. Some people have broomsticks to keep the water away from the buildings. They are keeping an eye on things and asking people to not come down to this area because is dangerous. They have closed sections of sir francis and fairfax and up to the canyon to the west. Pam Charles Clifford reporting. Its beautiful. Was it a hard place to get to . laughs it wasnt too bad.
