But everybody else got away. Kron fours Spencer Blake is live on the bay bridge tonight. Spencer we understand that doing a mass roundup isnt really what officers are usually going for. Its not that simple. While Law Enforcement will try to nab individuals who shoot off from the crowd, theres a lot more at play than you think when it comes to arresting an entire group of riders. nats of dirt bikes its not that unusual anynmore to see dirt bikers doing tricks on the bay bridge. Law enforcement agencies say sideshows like these have been picking up again over the last year to year and a half. dispatch audio from sunday were following a group of motorcycles, offroad type bikes, quads. While chp handled the situation sunday night, and arrested daisha moran after she took off alone on her motorcycle, these sideshows often change jurisdictions. They come in in groups, they leave in groups, so its kind of in little sporadic pockets. Were well aware of them coming in and out, especially in the Northern District and the park district. San Francisco Police officers have found riders like these jumping and riding along certain sets of stairs in town, and kron four has covered sideshows in several parts of the bay area. But per department policy, they cant chase after someone unless a felony is involved, and these road tricks would be citations or misdemeanors. On top of that, a lot of times theyre wearing their helmets, so its hard to see whos under there. Thats why the biggest thing s fpd tries to do in cases that involve them. Is identify the riders with pictures or videos of that show clear details on their bikes, their license platesor even a face, if a rider goes helmetless. That way they can try to make individual arrests later. When theyre in large numbers, in order ya know, if we try to pursue them, its just going to cause more of a Public Safety matter. Earlier this month a group of riders badly beat a man on highway 101. Sfpd says the people who were part of the sideshow last night could have been involved with the beating, but its possible this is an entirely new group of riders, too. Larry brooks is with alameda counties Healthy Homes department which works with families who are dealing with lead exposure. But is it working . N the back of all San Francisco muni light rail vehicles are bright yellow signs which reads stop do not pass they are actually new signs, nats ambiance here let me show you on the left is the old sign which reads motorist must stop for pedestrians on the right the new sign its a larger easier and to read sign nats ambiance on the streets there are also the black and white do not pass signs. State law requires drivers to stop and wait when passengers are boarding or deboarding a light rail vehicle or cable car once the doors close you can proceed but as long as the door are opened you must stop. I get so many complaints about drivers not stopping for the n judah line nats ambiance this uber driver totally ignored the sign and rolled past all the open doors, i caught it on my camera and apparently, my dash cam captured it as wellnotice at the front of the lrv passengers were still exiting nats ambiance once the doors close you can drive unless there are people behaving badly by casually walking in the middle of the street having a conversation nats ambiance the sign reads stop not creep forward here at sunset and judah the lrv is stopped with the doors open yet all these drivers are creeping by while passengers are Still Standing near the train nats ambiancenow as usual people will try to pick this story apart and look for loopholes some will try to say if there is an island you are not required to stop this is partially true first off its called a saftey zone and not all safty zones are created equal. An official safety zone will have a speed limit posted which is 10 mph and it will have metal barriers to keep out of control car and truck from hitting people exiting a train. Any other island you must stop. Nats ambiance if you get caught the not stopping total fine is 238 dollars and a point on your driving record hit a pedestrian and then you have a huge problem my advice if you drive a car or ride a bike.
