Well, according to a witnesses i talked to this afternoon, this attack occurred just behind me here in front of the recreation center. The two victims in this case are going to be ok, but police says its very unusual that a group of young people would attack two adults. According to the San Francisco police department, just after 7pm thursday evening a group of twenty juveniles were having a water fight. Here. Outside the palega recreation center. At some point the group may have gotten to close to another group that included Young Children. When the father of one of the Young Children tried to scold the juveniles, 8 of the kids attacked him and another man. Sotpoliced say one victim is 23yearsold and the other is 37. Following the attack, some of the juveniles actually stayed in the area. When police arrived, one of the victims pointed out his attacker. Sot investigators say that additional arrests are possible if more suspects can be identified. They are also interviewing additional witnesses and checking for nearby Security Camera video that may have recorded the assault. Police say an attack like this is unusual for the area, but they will be keep an eye out for any problems. Sot now, the one suspect who was arrested is facing aggravated assault charges. Two young people were shot and killed while they slept. Now after 13 long years the cold case into who might have committed that terrible crime has finally led to an arrest. This is who Sonoma County sheriffs have under arrest tonight in a double murder that up until now has been a cold case. He is 38 year old shaun gallon of forrestville. Sonoma county sheriff says its a major breakthru in the investigation of the deaths back in 2004 of jason allen and lindsay cutshall. Sonoma County sheriff Steve Freitas based on what detectives have been able to learn we feel confident that we have jason and lindsays killer in custody. This shocked the community of jenner it was traumatic for them and for Sonoma County. Both victims were camp counselors in california for a Christian Youth camp. Sightingseeing. When their bodies were discovered on a Secluded Beach in jenner. Back then gallon was considered suspicious but there wasnt enough to connect him to the murders. Gallon was arrested earlier this year for allegedly killing his brother with a rifle. Investigators say thats when gallon implicated himself in the 2004 cold case. The victim reached out to me through social media last week and shared her story with kron4s maureen kelly. Tess pawlisch says she was just sitting on a bart train when she was attacked. She was diagnosed with post concussion syndrome after being hit in the head several times. This happened at the west oakland station. Now police say they have arrested three of the teens involved. And that a fourth teenager is expected to be arrested soon. pam a sad update tonight. On a story we first brought to you earlier this week on kron four. The owner of a dog that disappeared from a Castro Valley home. Was found dead today. Murfee was taken some time last weekend. The 3yearold German Shepherd was a rescue dog. And was helping mentor other pets. Not many details are available, but the dog was found on the property inside a car. There had been a 10 thousand dollar reward for murfees safe return. Friday alone they caught five rattlers in brentwood, four in walnut creek, some in alamo where i met them, and then they headed off to catch more in napa. More grain and more flowers are gonna be available, which means its going to be food for rodents and mice, which in turn is gonna support rattlesnakes. Luis has been a reptile enthusiast his whole life, but jenae says she usually takes more of a backseat approach to helping her husband. Ive kind of adjusted and adapted a little bit, as you can see. And two and a half days of closing arguments. Now the jury has a lot of work to do if convicted of 1st degree murder, with a special circumstance for kidnapping. Suspect Antolin Garcia torres will face the death penalty. Sierra lamarrs body has never been found, and legal analysts say, that could weigh heavily with the jury. One of the coordinators with sierras search team says, he thinks the jury will do the right thing. Return of sierra to her family, which has been the main goal of the volunteers for the past five years. After flaring at the valero refinery in benicia. pam it all started with a power outage at the plant. This was the scene around seven this morning. People could see dark plumes a smoke. Pgande says, it had shut down one of the lines for some planned maintenance. It is investigating why the other line failed. Crews managed to restore power quickly. In under 20 minutes. But the plant was still forced to release smoke for most of the day, as it dealt with the situation. Air was tested for most of the day, and safety issues checked. And while there were some dangerous chemical levels in the air. The Environmental Protection agency says, that has cleared up by the wind. pam approximently 500 businesses were affected because of the Evacuation Order of that Industrial Park downwind of valero plant. Here you can see how police blocked off industrial way. At east second street. Many workers and customers of those businesses were forced to wait for hours during the incident. We talked to several people who were already on the job. When the flareup started. Seen flames coming off that thing so it was bad. pam people who work near that refinery say, this is the worst flare up they have ever seen at valero. At this point, the city says, it does anota know the Economic Impact to those businesses affected by the Evacuation Order. steve the cause of a sinkhole that tipped a big rig onto its side in San Francisco this morning remains a mystery. It happened about 520 this morning on 7th street between brannon and townsend. Dan kerman explains what utility crews discovered. A truck driver got more than her bargained for friday morning. About 520, he pulled over on southbound 7th street to park, and then suddenly felt the earth move. Sot Alejandro Curiel truck driver when i stopped the truck i noticed it starting to sink to the right side , really slow motion so it gave me a chance to hold my body to the wheelsot betsy rhodes sf pucthe truck started listing a bit and went into a 10 by 20 foot sinkhole, it was only about 5 feet deep but the truck was on its side in it. Sot i hold my body with the Steering Wheel and i see the tree on the other side , i cant believe it happened to me. The driver managed to escape unharmed out the drivers door then it was up to a tow truck to pull the rig out. With the truck gone by 930, sf puc crews began to investigate what caused the sinkhole sot we dont know what went on in there it looks pretty dry, but we are checking for leaks but now we are not sure what the cause is yet. After several hours of investigation, crews did find a 3 foot void between the top of the asphalt and the ground underneath but the source of the void remains a mysterysotthe usual culprit of a void like that is water that moves the sand underneath it. But they went down 15 feet they checked the nearby pipes, there are no leaks of any kind, in fact the soil is dry so the source of any potential water that would have moved it we do no know at this time. 144std pam pam people in Southern California.
