Well, ken and catherine, so far, investigators have not found any human remains or any evidence that a homicide took place here at the scene. The mercedes sports car, though, was found filled with several bags of cement. The excavation process continuing tonight here at the home as questions remain as to why this car was here in the first place. The mystery at atherton mansion continues as police carefully dig out a stolen Mercedes Benz found buried in a backyard. We still dont know what kind of investigation were conducting. We dont know if this is going to be a criminal investigation or if this will be a noncriminal investigation. Investigators say the car was buried in the 1990s and was reported stolen by Palo Alto Police in september of 1992. The current homeowners did not own the home at the time. But police say a previous owner with a nefarious past named john liu may provide clues beyond the grave, the stall, mister liu, all who lived in that house for some years. And after had checkered history, hes no longer alive but had a checkered history of actually being convicted back in the late 60s early 70s. A murder that conviction was later overturned. Information is still scarce about why the sports car was buried 4 to 5 feet underground at a home on stockbridge avenue at the scene. Cadaver canines have so far been unable to locate any human remains. The dogs have only given what investigators are calling a slight reaction, which can be a number of things or nothing. It could be human remains. They could be reacting to blood. They could be reacting to bones. They could be acting to human fama. It could be any one of those combinations of things that the dogs are reacting to. Neighbors of the home tell us they are puzzled by this discovery, waiting to hear whats in the car. If anything. Well, police say theyre not going to be giving any sort of updates unless there is some sort of major breaking development that happens if that information doesnt up happening. Of course, we will hear about it within the next couple of hours or the next couple of days. Otherwise were going to have to wait until monday for the very latest. The shut offs will start on saturday and run through monday. They will mostly apparently affect residents of lake and napa counties. People who need to run medical devices from their homes will be contacted to verify. They know about the safety message. Weve got a cold front that is now getting ready to drop across the bay areas. Not one thats going to bring your rain and we love that it would. But unfortunately, is going to come through as mainly a dry front. You can see the clouds are gathering outside right now. A few scattered light showers in far Northern California in just some high clouds drifting across the bay area. Skies now. But its that front thats coming through. And a cold front basically is a boundary between the warmer and out ahead of it and that cold air behind that. And thats whats going to be drifting into the bay area. And thats going to kick up a whole lot of wind outside right now starting to see some of those winds picking up along the coastal sections. You can see the red. You can also see the purple just off the coast. Those some stronger wind gust begin to develop some of that over the mountain tops as well. Most that just a sea breeze. But things are going to begin to change. Weve had some gusts over 30 miles an hour in San Francisco today. And i think by tomorrow youre going to really notice those winds wrapping up throughout the day. So weve got a general sea breeze right now by tomorrow afternoon. That cold front comes through in all of a sudden you start to see all those colors that are off the coastline moving right in along the coast inside the bay. 30 may be some 40 plus mile an hour gust. And then as we head in towards sunday, that wind direction begins to change on shore wind, we get whats called an offshore wind that northerly component win. The utility says its because of water, a water main break in the area and they say theyll be testing water for the next 48 hours. Crews are also leaving door hangers with instructions at individual homes in that area. San jose residents pay more each month on bills and any other major city in the country. Thats according to report that was done by doxo insights. Some bills that went into account included mortgages, rent payments, utilities, car loan, cell phone, bill bills and others. The report shows the average resident is paying more than 3200 a month on recurring bills. That is 62 more than the national average, which is about 2000 a month. The city edged out new york city, boston and San Francisco for those high prices. If the current trend continues, all bay area counties could be paying less than 6 a gallon for gas by this time tomorrow, the nearly 2 week trend of dropping prices continue today. The state average now 5. 83 a gallon only San Francisco map and san mateo counties are paying an average of more than 6. And thats only by a few cents. Overall, prices are nearly a half dollar cheaper then last week, although they are still about 0. 50 higher, then a month ago. A federal Appeals Court has temporarily halted president bidens student loan forgiveness program. Before the ruling, the president spent the day praising the programs success. Kron fours. Well, applications officially opened up on monday and already 22 Million People have applied but appears getting relief. From Student Loan Debt has come to a halt after this latest court challenge, the student loan forgiveness, application page still active but getting money back is on hold. A federal Appeals Court issued an administrative stay temporarily blocking president joe bidens plan to cancel billions of dollars in federal student loans. The White House Press secretary tweeted this. The ruling does not prevent people from applying for student debt relief, nor does it stop the federal government from reviewing the applications. The Administration Just cannot distribute relief until the court makes a ruling. Republicans have sharply criticized the program for being too expensive. The Congressional Budget Office estimates the program will cost about 400 billion dollars over the next 3 decades. I wouldnt call it forgiveness because youre not getting anything. Youre just shifting it over to taxpayers. The Biden Administration officially launched the program on monday. Federal courts dismissed 2 republican led challenge is to the program on thursday before Fridays Court ruling. The president criticized republicans for putting the relief for millions in limbo. Their outrage is wrong and its super critical. A judge sentenced joseph cook, too. 35 years in prison last november for molesting former students at blossom hill elementary, one victim was abused in early 2020. He will get a settlement of 900,000. Another victim was abused in 2008, 2009. He will receive 4. 2 Million Dollars. But a Little Police are searching for a man accused of trying to kidnap a young boy. Police say a boy was playing at Mcdowell Park when a man approached him and to talk to him. The parents spotted them and told them to leave. And then the man left on a bicycle man was described as being in his late 40s riding a red bike. The great lake tahoe area going to see some very gusty winds of 40 60 miles an hour. Their fire danger is going to be elevated through saturday and probably into sunday as well.
