It got cold yesterday didn't it holy cow it's like winter arrived all in one just whoosh and for the last 4 nights in a row camped out about 1000 feet with my dog and yesterday was just the most glorious wonderful beautiful day walking around the mountains and just the whole all just really soaking up immersing myself within the bad history that is Colorado if you can get away from all that and home want to joyous wonderful experience and then woke up this morning went wait a minute is that snow. Well gee it's notably 2 inches when it was over well it was 25 degrees what the dash board said but no wind was blowing pretty good it was a lot colder and everything was frozen and you know what I just wasn't quite ready for that so I came down on that do some radio and I'm still not warmed up my fingers are still cold it was really cold but both it wouldn't made it out of there . Makes me think of this. Well I got to tell you about the miracle of streaming audio he streaming audio is just really just amazing because it's a t.v. You can touch base with your friends just everywhere all over the place you know when we're here for they are whatever they're doing. Lucky enough maybe they'll and I get to say howdy and when somebody you've been crazy about all your life ask you to play a song you know you just say you have specially when it's one like this. Who Yeah well that was that was Gertie the song faithfully I request from from Denver thank you for Ellie what a cretin saw her she was where was I. How did she do it. Oh yeah. Well as a couple I really. He's a foreigner boy they've pulled in a wanted to stay version and. You know those songs say things that I'd like to say yeah so that's nice that's kind of always the pick songs because. I don't like I'm playing them for you you know I get to pick the ones and sometimes it's lucky because I know somebody that's listening and I get so I get to play to a specific audience and it's really really cool that way and it's really neat with a streaming audience that can be anywhere and right now my mom my mom is listening in Tulsa Oklahoma on her phone your mom and congratulations She's there at that National Horse Show where her horse Congratulations became the reserve champion today Arab horse in the event called Trail where they walk and ride and do things over all sorts of obstacles and stuff as well really super competitive and it is the really big deal boy they got 2nd place the only one per one other horse beat my mom's horse today and here's to my mom. I just can't tell you this is one amazing horse lady she just she's I don't care if she's 39 years old it's 39 years old she just got that she's got that horse thing you just can't it's a girl in the horse thing it's just crazy but hey great shout out to mom right now and what are her favorite songs from the many gritty dirt bare. Well this and that next shout out to all the folks in Tulsa Oklahoma right now at the. Horse Show which is a big deal it's the biggest one in the whole country for. 3 eat and this horses are Arabian horses of course and and my mom's horse just got this barn named I'm not exactly sure what the registered name is but her horse just got reserve champion reserve green champion in 2nd place that's pretty good at the big big show let's. That's pretty good it's really good up grinning from ear to ear so congratulations you've been and I really want to give a shout out to a lady named Pam gamble and maybe Pam Peabody I'm not sure what she goes Pam is a dear lady and and she she was previously married to a Philip Ming and the lend Gimpel Glyn Gimpel was my horse trainer when I was about 30 years ago the guy was a technician with a bit in one of the best horsemen that I ever saw he could do stuff with a horse without his hands just his legs it is like pressure it was just amazing just a technician with with a a bit long shank short change long frog the whole thing all the dimensions I'm just an amazing horseman and this is sort of a heritage of horsemanship that is has carried for our family for a great many years and I'm just really honored to be a part of it. Valley that I guess it started in that same arena in that very same arena and tolls Oklahoma which they have a name for which I forget it's something goofy like Lowe's or written love's put 1000000000 or something like that but it's this really neat place where. They have an Arena stadium and it's an indoor stadium in an air conditioner and the horse walks from 95 degrees out and tolls Oklahoma heat into the cooled air conditioning goes well who. It was a really neat experience to be able to compete there and on August 5th 1902 I got to compete there with a horse named Sugar that horse was the best you ever saw at an event called Western riding and in that very same event and that are in that very same arena that my mom just had great success in with this Warsaw in 1900 to me in sugar one world champion western riding and he was a son of a horse called Sugar bars which makes me think of this song which has the American quarter horses one that was a stick. Blissed. Kind of form on its own all the cowboys in America said we need something new that's what we've got quite working on the ranch and so we need something new so they picked all 20 or 30 things and stallions and and they picked ones that exhibited the features that they wanted on the ranch. Completely American breed the American Quarter Horse. And a great song. Now Ok well I better do this 1st. This is key as j.d. I had to use stories community 91.5 k. As j.d. Now before he goes completely out of range I just think of myself whoa whoa whoa what a funny thing you know it's when you can put in the woods and near your bunk me 80 pound Rottweiler and in the middle of the night you hear something like this I don't know what they wanted but it was a bit raw all the way dark. Well maybe not so many of them. But you hear a coyote and me I'm just about have definite sleep and but boy if if you've got 80 pound Rottweiler laying across your lap and she hears something like that holy cow . Can lick up a big impression. Hey I wonder if she still listen. How odd turn it over the 7 o'clock hour or minutes. Have or had a shoot like yeah. Yeah yeah it's pretty close to being an issue like you see something that not everybody that lives down here in town maybe realizes that right now is is the 2nd day of the 2nd season of Elgin deer open season in Colorado and so there are a lot of people up in the woods right up in the south slope of the San Juan Mountains up on the place where we're listening right now and you know there's just a lot of folks up there you know got guns so let's try to be nice I think that's all try to penalize to each other and what comedy people and stuff like that right maybe even pull over every once in a while and you know with people by if you're in a bigger hurry or something like that you know we can all be just a little bit more accommodating for each other absolutely. So let's see here I always thought that this was a really odd song the song is mandolin rain and it's written by Bruce Hornsby who was put no slouch of a piano player the guy is really virtual so amazing piano player and pianist you must always be careful how you pronounce that word pianist to get that t. On the air but anyway Bruce Hornsby That's a great pianist and let me move this along that was mandolin rain listen to the main villain rain and yet he's trying to play the piece.
