yesterday afternoon with stab wounds. Authorities say they were called to the 1500 block of pierce street around 1 45 yesterday afternoon. Police arrived on scene and found two adult brothers suffering from stab wounds. No word as to the reason behind the stabbing. Sioux city police say both people injured were taken to

center. At this time neither of the mens injuries appear to be life threatening. Suffering from the stab wounds arent overly cooperative at this point with our investigation, but the investigations indicating that they possibly inflicted the wounds on each other, said the names of the brothers are not being released. A man accused of attempted murder has been charged. 36yearold
Jeremy Werneburg
was arrested in sac county, iowa on wednesday. He had been on the run since sunday night when

he intentionally ran a man down with his car outside a bar in carnarvon. Friday, he was transferred from

students was on display. While the event honors difference makers, serious issues are also talked about, including preventing discrimination,

and how an indiviudal can positvely impact those issues. Sioux city is not a bad place to live, said flora lee, president of the just like any other community but i think we do try quite often to work on those issues. I think we do need to chip away at looking at discrimination and inequalities in our community. This is the only fundraiser the chapter does each year. Just across the

Troopers Adaptive Riding School
hosted a big fundraiser. They use horses and dogs as therapy for physical, emotional and socially challenged individuals. The executive director says about 80 percent of funding comes from donations. Contributions also help keep operating costs low which helps keep the program running. Horses are expensive, said stacy pedersen, executive director of stars. We have 18 of those in our herd. That would be a big componet of taking care of our horses making sure that they are well fed and well doctored. Farrier is expensive. And there was a familiar face on ktivs matt breen was the emcee. I dont think he would be here today if we wouldnt of came a year ago and went through the seminar and the technicians discovered what they did discover and it was pretty scary, said gary kelleys wife, helen kelley. Because of last years heart expo, gary kelley found out his right carotid artery was completely blocked and his left was 95 blocked. The following day mercy got him in for an appointment and three weeks later he had lifesaving surgery. And otherwise if i wouldnt have had the surgery possibly within a period of the next 4 or 5 months i possibly could have had a stroke, said gary kelley. And now kelley is back to show his appreication for mercys heart center. Im back here just because i wanted to come back not only because of the goodies to munch on, but also to take the tour again and visit with people who take care of me kelly had his arterys checked again this year and they are completely clear. There were lots of activities like a caffeine education station where teens could learn how much is too much. Teens also learned about exercies they can do at home that dont need a lot of expensive equipment. There was also cpr education.
