The report is out to dismantle obamacare. The nonpart son reports shows that 20 million americans will lose their Health Insurance if it passes. Democrats say it could be leave many without Health Coverage but they say they are not looking at the whole plan. We believe the plan will insure more individuals than currently are insured. So we think that they have it wrong. They are rushing this bill through. We know why they are rushing it. The more exposure it gets, the less popular it becomes. But Republican Leaders claim that coverage statistics are misleading. They say many people covered under obamacare have high out ofpocket costs that make health care unaffordable. The Budget Office says the bill would cut federal deficits by 330 billion over ten years due to the roll back of the medicaid expansion. From coast to coast. People have been packing meetings to talk about the future of health care. In the north bay concerned residents gathered looking for answers about how their policies could change as they could repeal and replace obama care. Tom vacar was there and he joins us in the newsroom with the story. Tom. They were motivated many morin people opposed to obamacare and opposed to the republican plan. At high noon a crowd of 2000 gathered at the morin civic center with jarrett huffman. Even before the town hall, the overwhelming majority showed opposition to the republican replacement plan for obamacare. I hope that it will convince the republicans that this is unworkable plan. However, i think that it is most important that we keep the best of the Affordable Health care which is provided access to 40 million americans. We found one lone person in the bluest of blue counties that spoke out. I think for the most part everybody can benefit from a free market and if we have the means and a lot of us do have it. We should be able to go out and make it a competitive market. Inside it was a hand wringing session than pep rally on the republican plans. I think we ought to talk about fixing the Affordable Health care rather than repealing it. Every aspect of the republican plan was characterized as unfair. As more and more uninsured folks start to return to the Emergency Rooms for primary care and showing up at hospitals when they are very sick, those costs have to be spread throughout the Health Care System and it means even if you are on employer plan, your premiums are quite likely to go up. States will lose billions of federal dollars. With those large cuts it will force the state to make very difficult choices about cuts and eligibility and cuts in service. 50,000 morin residents is at serious risk of losing coverage. More people will become sick when they lose coverage and die earlier. My parents have to tell my sister that i might die of cancer. Representative huffman produced a young boy that says his life was saved from leukemia by threeandahalf years of intense treatment thanks to obamacare. Dont repeal the Affordable Health care. Improve it, why . Because my name is written as i give a damn. This is likely to be a big fight unlike many we have seen and no less than control of congress in 2018 hangs in the balance. Tom vacar, ktvu fox 2 news. I know you did a lot of checking this. Ten years from now. What are health care rates expected to be . What is the republican plan promises it will be 10 lower than it is right now. But this year they are likely to go up 15 and next year they are likely to go up 20 . Again this is information provided by them. The inflation alone on those ten years at the very minimal will be about 25 . So 10 below current prices without adjustment for inflation means the premiums will be more expensive and no two ways about that. This fight is just beginning. All right.
