Another developing story were following in north bay where fire crews are gaining ground on a wildfire thats forced mandatory evacuations in sonoma county. This is the sawmill fire. It broke out yesterday, and has burned 2 square miles. Christien kafton has the latest now. Reporter cal fire is saying hot weather and steep terrain are the greatest obstacles. Chp limiting the amount of vehicles in and out to make sure fire vehicles have easy access and keeping people out of harms way. Fire started late yesterday morning. The latest update is 20 contained and 3 dozen homes in danger. About 1500 acres scorched in all. Mandatory evacuation orders are on geysers road from Pine Mountain road to geysers resort. The gunman was shot and killed by police after exchanging fire with officers. Witnesses report nearly 20 to 30 shots fired in the span of about 15 minutes. A manager at a nearby post office said one of his workers was nearly hit. She came head on with the shooter. He opened his car door and just started shooting at her. The bullet went through her windshield near her head. Reporter 28yearold kaitlyn grace is talking about a subject thats provoked shame among some. She says shes suffered Mental Illness<\/a> since her childhood. She has been hearing voices in her head since she was eleven which made a simple trip to baskin robins, an ordeal, the voices arguing over which of the 31 flavors to choose. Five or six voices wanting different flavors, angry at me for considering strawberry, and no matter what flavor i wanted it was always the wrong choice and they were always attacking me for my choice. Reporter she says the voices were passive aggressive, demeaning and threatening. God, youre so ugly, people ugly like you shouldnt live. Reporter recently, the voices became more forceful and frightening. This time around, the voices were go jump in front of that car. Go kill yourself. Go die. Reporter last year she found herself at the john george psychiatric emergency room in san leandro, not sure how she got there. Turned out her parents had put her on a 5150 hold. It was horrible. Reporter she was told she suffered an overdose. She says she doesnt remember exactly what happened. Being there was more harm than good. Yeah, they kept me alive. But they did a lot more damage than i had before. Reporter she says shes still traumatized by the experience, as 2 investigates has reported, kaitlyn says patients were sleeping on the floor because of a lack of bed space. She says she couldnt even get a pillow with just five pillows for about 70 patients. She says she was threatened by fellow patients and bullied by staff members. They did not care about the patients. They had no empathy for us. Its just one of those like why are you even doing this job. Why are you helping the mentally ill at their most vulnerable and treating them like [ expletive j.
