Were following breaking news of a hazmat situation that began in hollister and now in san jose. One woman was exposed in hollister. She was decontaminated before she was air lifted in san jose. Fire Officials SayHazardous Materials team met her at the hospital and she went through a second decontamination upon arrival. The victim is in stable condition. There are no other patients and no threat to the public at this time. From san jose to fremont where we are learning new detail below zero a High School Teacher arrested on suspicion of having sex with an underaged student. The woman was arrested on thanksgiving. Good afternoon to both of you. The superintendent here tells me the teacher in question is in the process of being terminated as you can imagine. The pe teacher here at Washington High School is accused of carrying on an inappropriate relationship with a boy who also goes to this school. Now, she was originally arrested last week. But just this morning, she was rebooked on additional charges. This is the mug shot of 32year old cory audiat. She is charged with having sex with an underaged student. She was arrested on thanksgiving day after police launched an investigation a day earlier. Police say audiat began communicating with the boy earlier this year and the conversations became marin appropriate until the relationship eventually turned sexual. The principal at washington high emailed a letter to parents this morning letting them know about the arrest. Maria hernandez has a 16year old son who goes here. You have to be careful. You know. Especially when the teachers. They are more friendly than normal. And then sometimes if they invite them to enjoy time outside of the school, its more dangerous and you have to be careful about it. Reporter Officials Say audiat has been with the district since 2008 and passed a thorough background check. The superintendent says this is a very difficult time for staff and students. Our First Priority really this morning is just to establish calm and get the campus back to a normal state of focus on education of students and and to cooperate with the Police Department and make sure that the investigation is thorough and complete. Along with being a pe teacher, she alsod worked as a swim coach at Mission San Jose high school in fremont. Outside of work she was a professional body builder. We went by her house to talk with her but nobody answered the door. And this is still an open investigation, although detectives say at this point theres nothing to suggest there are any additional victims. However they are looking for any information from the public and they will follow up on the leads. Police in the east bay are on the hunt for the person who shot at a car injuring a man and his girlfriend. 580 was closed for hours yesterday. Authorities are trying to determine if this incident is connected in any of the freeway shootings in the east bay in the past year. A relative of the man who was shot says the family has no idea why someone would target their particular vehicle. Both victims are in stable condition at a hospital. Oakland police are trying to get Traffic Camera recordings from caltrans. A new poll shows most americans do not want president elect trump to repel the Affordable Care act. The nonpart son Kaiser Family foundation conducted the survey a week after the election. 26 of respondents say they supported repelling the Affordable Care act. 30 favored expanding it. Even republicans who backed trump had a change of heart in october the same survey found 69 of republicans wanted the law repelled after the election, that number dropped to 52 . Were learning more about the conditions of two Police Officers shot in tucson, arizona this morning. One officer was shot in the shoulder and chest. And just underwent surgery. He has extensive injuries. A second officer was shot in the leg and expected to go home later today. No details have been released about what led to the shooting. Reportedly they were investigating an accident at an apartment complex when a gun fight broke out. The suspected shooter was shot and killed by police. Meanwhile officers in tacoma, washington are mourning the death of one of their own. This comes after a 45year old veteran officer was killed in the line of duty. Reporter a 12hourlong standoff . Tacoma ending thursday morning with the death of a suspected cop killer and the dramatic rescue of two children. A Tacoma Police officer was shot multiple times on wednesday afternoon while responding to a domestic disturbance call. The suspected shooter barricaded himself in the house, taking two children hostage. We took in and took one of the kids when we had a chance. He grabbed the other kid and one of our officers felt he had a shot. He took it. The suspect is deceased. Reporter both children, an 8yearold boy and 11yearold girl are unharmed. The cops did everything by the book and the suspect seemed to lose control before firing the first shots. They just said that they wanted to talk to him. And gunfire started and it wasnt them that start touchdown. There was definitely a lot of yelling before i heard the gunshots. Reporter the officer was 45 years old and a 17year veteran of the tacoma Police Department. A procession of Law Enforcement officers escorted the body from the hospital to the medical examiners office. We suffered a great loss. And i think the community has suffered a great loss. And i dont know how to put that into words. Reporter police say the mans wife and another woman were in the house when the officer was shot. Both were able to escape before this long tense standoff began. In tacoma, washington, dan springer, fox news. In jacksonville, florida a hostage standoff during an Armed Bank Robbery is over with the suspect in custody and all 11 hostages are safe. Sheriffs deputies had received a 911 call earlier this morning about gunfire at the Community First credit union. When they arrived, the bank robber was still inside. A s. W. A. T. Teak and negotiators were called in. The Bank Robbery Suspect surrendered after a couple hours of negotiations. 7 people are confirmed dead in a string of fires in tennessee. The first fire started monday in gatlinburg near the Great Smokey Mountains National park. Investigators think it was human caused. Strong winds sparked other fires and forced thousands of people to evacuate. Theres still a lot of danger for First Responders and families who are trying to return home. The search is so important to go into all of these homes, all of these rental cabins, all of these, you know you know, search every house in gatlinburg.
