Investigators are gathering evidence and a spokesperson led up to what happened after officers arrived on the scene. The man came out with a baseball bat. He hit the sergeant with a baseball bat and the sergeant was carrying a patrol rifle and it disabled the rifle and it hit him in his arm as he tried to block the strike of the baseball bat. At that time he transitioned and he faired along with another deputy. Investigators say officers had been to the san lorenzo home in the past 10 years. They will have a live report from the scene. A highspeed chase ends in a crash last night and thats when the suspects got out and ran away. It looks like the search has been called off earlier this morning and they said as of midnight their search had ended and of course this happened at about so hours ago and these suspects are probably long gone by now. All of this happened at 8 00 last night and officers scoured bushes and many parts of the presidio when officers were looked for two parked cars and when they questioned them they ran. They took off at a high rate of speed and subsequently hit two of our officers vehicles as they were leaving the area. When they got onto the golden gate bridge, they rearended another vehicle, not Law Enforcement. Police say the pair crashed their own car before getting out and running towards the presidio yes presidio. It happened just before 6 00 yesterday morning as officers Jaun Gonzalez and brian law got into an accident on their way to fresno. It happened near kingsberg and it was on the southbound side. Officers gonzalez was driving when the two officers were killed. They were killed understandly. We post two if members of the patrol. They trained together came on at the same time both men were wearing their seat belts and it is standard procedures for two men to ride together during the overnight shift. They both worked here before transferring to fresno. He worked here as a Field Training officer and officers say he was hard working reliability and never stopped. His careers, they all know each other, we workday in and day out 12 hour shifts and we never forget about each other. They first worked at the chp academy in 2008 and after they ended up together, they often worked the overnight shift together. We are beginning with news, they are investigating a deadly officer involved shooting from san lorenzo and they just got some information on what led up to the deadly gunfire. Good morning, sheriffs deputies shot and killed the a 60yearold man who came after them with a wooden baseball bat late last night. It happened just beyond the crime scene tape here in san lorenzo. Let me show you a Photo Provided to the Sheriffs Office. Everything fan before 10 00 last night when they were calling out to treat the home own homeowner for some sort of medical condition. The man jumped from the ambulance and ran back inside his house. Sheriffs deputies showed up and they went inside the house with guns drawn and the homeowner then surprised the deputies swinging his bat at a sergeant and knocking the shotgun out of his hands. That is when deputies opened fire on the man. This is a difficult situation for Law Enforcement you are not familiar with that house and that person is familiar with the house and thats the situation that was presented last night and he comes out and and he finally attacks and they are attempting to hit him again. She was apparently outside when the shooting happened. None of the deputies were hurt including the sergeant who was hit with the baseball bat. He does have a history at this home and a spokesperson said they had been called out here at least 19 times in the past for various reasons. This is still an active investigation, homicide investigaters are now on the scene but we are told they are waiting for a search warrant before they continue gathering more evidence and streets will be blocked off here in san lorenzo. Police are searching for two who led to a highspeed chase on the golden gate bridge. They led there to talk about how this all started and where the investigation stands now.
