Once they turn the metering lights on, it does get rather busy coming through to the toll plaza. 25 minute drive time there. No problems on the upper deck. San mateo bridge westbound 92 that traffic looks good. Nice and clear weather as steve mentioned visibility is good. I think its good everywhere in the bay area. Weve had a problem southbound 101 at mckey. Northbound 101 a little slow. If you look at the rest of the maps here in the south bay; were off to a good start. 85 and 280 all doing very well. Lets go back to the desk. Six months and now just a few hours ago a big earthquake shook napa. 200 people were hurt. Hundreds of buildings were damaged. I know you remember. Many buildings are still shut down like this post office here. You can see people have posted all of these hearts here along the fence saying please save our post office. Please reopen we miss you. The official estimate for damage was 442 million. A Risk Management company says that number is really at least twice that much. Downtown the safeway that was reslated to open in december but so far no, maam word. Many Small Business owners say Disaster Relief was not enough to cover the losses. But over all city leaders say they have seen patrol guess. We have spoke to one Business Owner whos inventory inside his store was destroyed but she managed to get back on her feet. The city has also lost some tax money because some hotels, restaurants, and other businesses were badly damaged. The company that owns napa self storage says its about to demolish the buildings with all of the contents inside that is is unless they agree to help pay for repair costs. Tenants are very angry. Brian flores is in san rafael where they are saying vaccines skipping is the reason why this crippling disease could return. A lot has to do with a recent Measles Outbreak. Dr. Matthew says because of that he is urging people and kids to get the poll owe vaccine. Polio currently present in Nine Countries. But 1979 the u. S. Declared the disease eradicated because of the disease. But with recent talk, dr. Willis says its time to get the vaccine and the spread of polio could happen again. Later today santa claire real county residents will get a chance to say how they feel about a controversial system that will let sheriffs dep its track people through their cell phones. At 9 00 a. M. The report also recommends that bart offer 24 hour service but the agency says it cant currently run around the clock because it needs to shut down the system to perform maintenance work. Two state lawmakers state Assembly Members phil ting and kevin mullen are calling for an investigation. The archbishop refused their request to remove what they call the devicive and discriminatory clauses. Those lawmakers say the clauses may violate the civil rights of the workers. The National Conference in uc berkeley this week on Sexual Assault is causing controversy. Uc berkeley is one of 90 colleges under investigation for the civil office. Prompted by a complaint last year who say the college failed to adequately protect students from Sexual Assault. Tomorrow some students are planning a protest they say uc berkeley should fix its own problems before presenting itself as a leader in the movement against campus rape. Today San Francisco supervisor mark farrell will introduce a plan to ban Tobacco Products at baseball parks. It would apply to more than just at t park. And it would include smokeless Tobacco Products as well. If approved it would be the first ban in baseball parks in the country. Supporters say it will be good for the health of the players and set a good example for americas kids. Time is 6 11. The judge says furminger violated the publics trust. The veteran was convicted of stealing money and property from drug dealers. There are no major problems there and we also have word of a crash reported in hayward northbound 880 at 92. Lets go to steve. Outside lands and the Bottle Rock Festivals those are just two major music events in the bay area and now a third one could soon be on its way. A fourday Music Festival is being proposed at sonoma raceway for the summer of 2017. The event would attract 40,000 people. The Music Festival would be on the and having people stay on site and enjoy the event. Its not a done deal yet. Studies have been done on stage positions and noise. The concerts would end at midnight but it is an idea that is is drawing good and bad responses from neighbors. This isnt the place for it. There is a lot of tourists that come here and need things to do and want things to do. And it has the infrastructure. Good or bad the idea goes before the public for the first time tomorrow night. We are officially 50 weeks away from super bowl 50 at levi stadium and the search for volunteers i mean thousands of them is about to get under way. Organizers need almost 10,000 people to help with the events. They are recruiting people to help the more than one million visitors get to anaphoria super bowl events all over the bay area. They are look for people who know the landmarks and others who are tech savvy. The idea is we will have local bay area natives help people navigate their way through say the airports or downtown San Francisco. Or downtown san jose. And basically be good ambassadors for this region. In return, they say the volunteers will get a special uniform and also get to spend time in the middle of all of the action. And they will be able to attend special events. One of the things that comes does not come with the job you dont get a free ticket to the big game. Hillary clinton will be among todays featured speakers at a Silicon Valley conference for women. Mrs. Clinton will be one of the Keynote Luncheon speakers. Organizers say the conference raises awareness abouts earning potential and opportunities in the fields of science and technology and highlights the Ground Breaking women who are leading the way. It is being held at the Santa Clara Convention center. Time is 6 26. A bold new look to improve pedestrian safety. The changes being made to some San Francisco crosswalks in an effort to get drivers to slow down.
