They track down the names, photos, and vehicle descriptions of drivers that would probably reoffend. Most have multiple suspensions on their drivers licenses with convictions for driving on a suspended license. This list is private but the people on it know they are being watched. They have been getting letters identifying them as repeat offenders and warning them of significant criminal penalties if they drive. That is even after the building came through sundays quake with flying colors after being retro fitted before the earthquake. Its the building that backs up to the pizzeria and others that consider hazardous. Inspectors feel they can crumble and collapse into neighboring roofs. The owners have ignored repeated efforts to retro fit. The idea of spending a lot of money on that when its not necessary doesnt make a lot of sense to me. He doesnt think it is necessary. The chp is investigating a late night motorcycle crash in oakland that killed a female rider. It happened just before 11 00 last night on northbound 880. Officers say a woman in her 30s hit the white plastic lane dividers between the lanes and crashed her motorcycle. They say at this point it does not appear any other vehicles were involved. Metal team arrived and they were able the medical team arrived and they were able to look over the rider and said the rider was deceased. Chp shut down several lanes on northbound 880 right after the accident. The lanes have reopened and investigators say alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Oakland chp is asking anyone who may have witnessed that crash to give them a call. The Redwood City Police department will be conducting a Motorcycle Safety enforcement operation today. Officers will be patrolling areas popular with motorcyclists and areas where motorcycle crashes most frequently occur. They will be cracking down on drivers and riders that are speeding. The body of a woman found in a car parked outside of a church was a stabbing victim. The department of public work says andrews may have slipped and fallen in front of the truck. The truck driver has been suspended without pay and will be tested for drugs and alcohol as a precaution.
