Were getting a break, were mostly cloudy and breezy out there. Antioch picking up light rain here. And across the American Canyon, getting into napa and san raphael we have light rain over your area and the wrap around moisture continues at this hour. This system continues to move south and east, it will take the rain with it. Ill have a timeline for your saturday tell had you how much rainy expect well get and when it will finally come to an end coming up. Multiple fire crews on to the scene of a building fire in oakland. A report came into our newsroom about a hour ago. Theyve been gathering the information and joins, now, with what youve learned. The fire is out, firefighters arson investigators and Oakland Police are still at the scene. Lets show you whats in the newsroom. This is a fire that happened near 34th avenue in the fruitville district of oakland. Its not clear whether the fire happened at a home or business. The fire broke out at 5 00 this morning. Weve confirmed that Oakland Police have a crime scene Investigative Unit on the scene. Someone may have died in this fire. Theyre investigating reports of a possible victim they tell us. There are reports from firefighters that a body was found in this burned building. Theyve been called in to check this out. Also new this morning an oakland family had a wakeup call when a driver lost control and plowed into their home. The driver hit several parked cars before slamming into the garage on coolidge avenue. Everyone was asleep and they thought there had been an earthquake. I was asleep at the time. I heard the bang and felt the bang thats what woke me up. I kind of remember hearing something waking me up before that and then i woke up and i thought it was an earthquake at first, but, obviously, not. No one was hurt. The driver did sever a gas line in the crash causing a gas leak at the time. Fg and e turned off the gas. A man was injured inside of a restaurant from a shooting. It is mexican and filipino quicken seen cuisine in the restaurant. The victims name and condition has not been released. There were no customers at the time of that shooting. Drugs and alcohol may have played the role in a deadly crash. That happened at 8 00 last night on commerce boulevard. 23yearold Raphael Gonzalez was driving when he lost control and he hit a tree killing the passenger. He ran and hid after the crash but was later arrested on suspicion of du i and arrested for knell any hit and run. Weve had one two inches in the bay cities and up to five inches in the hills. Thunder and lightning also reported.
